Ideas for new keycap sets
« on: Thu, 06 October 2016, 13:27:35 »
I don't think I have the energy to design and execute actual keycap sets that can be sold on Massdrop, but I have some ideas that I think would make really beautiful keycap sets. If any of you want to take these ideas and turn them into keycap sets, feel free to do so.

Matcha, Coffee, and Chocolate - This set is inspired by the matcha green tea desserts that are so yummy, and are often paired with chocolate. Add coffee to it and it's a gorgeous and tasteful set of color palette using matcha green with dark brown legends for alphas, dark or medium chocolate browns with match green legends for modifiers, and cappuccino/latte light browns for accents (Esc, Enter, arrows, etc.).

Eva-01 - If you have watched Evangelion, you know exactly what I'm talking about. That iconic and striking purple, green, and orange color palette. Purple alphas with green legends, green modifiers with purple legends, and orange accents (Esc, Enter, arrows, etc.).

Rocky Road - Almond beige or golden caramel with dark or medium brown legends for alphas, dark or medium chocolate browns with beige or caramel legends for modifiers, and white marshmallow for accents (Esc, Enter, arrows, etc.).

I totally forgot about the Troubled Minds set! (and it's even got an Eva-01 kit too!)

The only coffee-themed set I know of is this one: http://keypuller.com/coffee/

yes, so you can incorporate some greens to add the macha effect?

you could post your ideas here : https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=25674.0

That coffee set's hues are not right for what I'm imagining--it's too much red in it.

Thanks for that link--I'll post my ideas there.

There's a similar set for green tea.

Have been drooling over this set for a while but its super rare and always marked up.

Such artisan, many caps, very keyboard.

Always searching for Bro caps!

1swt2gs classifieds!

I posted my attempt on the Matcha, Chocolate, Coffee set in the other thread, and forgot to post them here too:

Here's my first attempt at the Matcha, Coffee, Chocolate set (it looks less saturated when viewed using ACDSee. In Chrome it's a bit too saturated):

This is a desaturated version that should look closer to my intent:
