CDP has not officially replied and AFAIK all their resources are being thrown at Cyberpunk 2077. This means that we probably won't get their official support.

At this point in time there are a few things we can do:

1. Go ahead as is, risking them finding out about it.
2. Redesign the Witcher Signs, so as not to infringe on their intellectual property (IP).
3. Scrap the whole project.

I'm personally for no. 2.

I think n.2 is the go to at this point, there can always be a round 2 with the approved novelties implemented. Can't wait for the set!!

Number 2 is a great option to move forward, and when they do reply and give you approval you can always do a round 2 with the additional Witcher keycaps.

You have a cool set, if it's just the icons that are disappearing, you can easily change the sword/wolf to a modern looking icon to match the triangles.

Should I add more Sign novelties to this set? Was considering especially 1.25u and 1.5u R4...

Also, maybe a few more text novelties?

These changes will increase the price of course.

The current novelties kit is already one of the larger ones around, so I would say no.

I think there is no need for it, current set has enough novelties to satisfy most people in my opinion.

I'm no lawyer, but it would be interesting to determine for sure whether the five signs are even unique enough to be considered IP.
But yeah, definitely play it safe and don't get sued.

I use WKL layouts on all my boards from 60-65-TKL and always change right alt and ctrl to fn and OS keys so it's ugly to have 2 super keys next to each other.

Guys, this is the new Witcher Signs concept.

Some design notes:

— Witcher Signs are made using the casters fingers, which the dots are meant to represent.
— The lines connect the dots, suggesting how a specific Sign is cast.
— The dots are also a tribute to mechanical keyboards (PCB holes specifically).
— The dots could are also slightly reminiscent of constellations, hence trying to forge a connection with the stars, and magic in turn.
— The spaces between the dots and lines are also in line with that Sword novelty.

Please let me know what you think. I'll be getting some new renders done soon so please add any feedback you deem necessary!

Can we see what it looks like without the smaller unfilled/uncolored dots in the center of bigger dots? I am thinking it would look nicer if the dots were solid color.

Yes. It's so that you can cover 2 keyboards if you buy both core kit + alphas. Someone asked me to move it into the base kit though. Don't recall who now or why. If you're reading this, let me know.

I'll be making some updates over the weekend with renders hopefully coming soon thereafter.

I doubt we'll make August. I have almost everything ready apart from 1 set of renders which should arrive shortly. There has also been a US vendor swap in the meantime and I have not yet confirmed the new vendor will run this set. Will post updates when I have some 100% news on the topic.

Zireael — the novelty kit — consists of 10 light grey on dark grey novelties, which are inspired by Geralt's Signs — Aard, Axii, Quen, Igni, and Yrden. I have also added the novelties from the core kit in a reversed colourway — dark greys on light grey keys — and included two coloured sets. The latter consist of two R1 novelty keys each (signifying the ladies' symbols), arrows, and Enter keys. The colours are inspired by Ciri's and Yennefer's eyes. Finally, there are some new text novelties, including R1 1u "Hmm", R1 2u "****", and R3 1.5u "Roach". The regular Enter key should be light grey, not white (render error).

Version 3 — "Dots" Design

Version 4 — "Circle" Design

One more update:

I have more or less decided to go for custom colours. Whether I go RAL or Pantone, I will go for a slightly darker and cooler, more neutral grey than N9, which should slot in nicely between GMK's CR and N9.
