I used to have that L-Shaped Walker Edison glass desk from Amazon a lot of others have. I just recently got fed up with the layout and got myself a regular non-corner desk from Ikea. That glass desk is amazing, but my room is SO small that I felt closed into the corner anytime I sat at my desk. I decided to go with a smaller desk, mount my monitors to the wall, redecorate my room and move everything around!

Spent New Years Eve for 7 hours straight moving my furniture, taking apart the old desk, then setting up all the monitors, PC, consoles, cables, etc. Ended up doing too much, giving myself pericarditis from stressing my heart out (I'm disabled.. and pretty much been bedbound since my third surgery 6 months ago. So I did WAY too much too fast!). Spent the last two weeks slowly finishing decorating and fixing the cable management, and I'm finally just about done!

Also got a bunch of those cube shelves to put my consoles, games, router, modem, etc, on. Looks way better than how I used to have everything jumbled on one single thing.
Show Image

Oh and I got one to hold my fish tank, my jewelry tree, all my stationery and paper, my pens and ink stuff, makeup, art stuff, etc. I love these things haha.
Show Image

And my favorite new thing to my room.. A simple and cheap black canopy to go over my bed :D Along with a few strings of fairy lights. It's so cozy now!
Show Image

Only things left to do... get my father to put the little black chandelier I got on the ceiling, and paint the shelf above my bed black :)

Honestly, I'd love to get rid of this hideous wallpaper that's been in here since my parents bought this house in the 70s.. but it's just too much work, I could never do it alone! So until then, I have to deal with it.

Almost everything in my room is from Amazon lol.. I love Amazon Prime. The area rug I got from there is really nice too, and was pretty cheap for a decent sized rug :D

Sorry for being like a year and a bit late replying ( Just joined on here ) But that is one epic room :) Absolutely love how you've done it. I can imagine as someone who also lives with disabilities it's a very comfy and relaxing place to be. I've got some inspiration from this post thank you :)

I miss this setup. So much. Sadly, my sit to stand desk isn't wide enough for 2x 27", 1 horizontal and 1 vertical, with my JBL 305's on the ends :(. I may be able to swing it, but I wouldn't be able to have my main monitor dead center, which is the main benefit of this layout :(

As you can see, or not, I don't think the vertical horizontal monitor setup would work :|s

Be careful, that display at the top may give you neck problems.

My eye line is lined up in between the two monitors. I recently purchased and use a headrest on my Aeron and I keep my head in place :).

If anything, I think the bottom one is more prone to issues when gaming than the top is when I work.

Appreciate the concern though :)

Gotta agree! I love pics with a vertical secondary monitor. Used that kind of setup myself at work and wanna do it at home too.

Thanks, appreciate the kind words!

It's the first time I've had a "permanent" setup using a vertical seconday monitor. I'm liking it a lot so far. My main monitor is a 27" 2560x1440p but the secondary is actually "just" a 24" 1920x1200p. I went with a 16:10 because the extra height (in this case width) would come in handy. :)

I finally acquired a secondary monitor.

Cheers! It's been working out great so far. I've actually thought about using the same setup at work too, lol.

Bad lighting, I really need to get a nice lamp setup as the ceiling lights are quite harsh (I'm in the loft so struggle for decent lighting)..

Took this while moving some stuff around..

Thanks! It's an Acer XR342CK. It's pretty good, I love the resolution, I might look to upgrade it to something with G-Sync in the near future though, but panel tech seems pretty stagnant on monitors right now especially 21:9

Would love to upgrade to a monitor like that, I just don't know if I can make it work with what I'm running currently.
Definitely a classy looking setup. :D

Thanks!

And I agree with you on the two monitors.  My setup before this was a Macbook and that monitor I have in the pic.  The only reason I am using one monitor right now is because I am waiting for the new Nvidia cards to launch before deciding on a monitor to go with.  Hoping to get a 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor as the main and moving my current monitor as a secondary vertical one.

For now I need to survive....

I hope to make an office like that someday, but not until I get a house.
I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

Yes, it's the Elgato TB3 dock. It works great. It's very convenient to be able to have my 4K monitor, USB DAC, external drives, ethernet and keyboard/trackpad just by plugging in one cable. It also charges the 15" MacBook Pro VERY fast.

Occasionally the monitor has a hiccup when waking from sleep but I think that has more to do with the Mac than the dock. My TV sometimes does the same thing when plugged directly into the TB port on the laptop. Unplugging and replugging generally fixes it.

My only complaint is the TB3 cable it came with is only about 12 inches which limits placement. Thought about getting a longer one but the full-spec 40Gbps cables are pretty expensive.

Phone pic of my desk tonight. Think it looks pretty much like what I thought my desk would look like in the year 2018 when I was a child in the 80s.
