Texscan MSI Omnikey Ultra2
« on: Sat, 25 January 2025, 19:01:42 »
Hello All,
I got this keyboard at an auction a few years ago, I believe it was used to type the emergency broadcast warning messages for tv systems in Arizona.

Its got a PS/2 plug on the rear, and the upper left door reveals an orange button and the 8 dip switches.

I can't get it working :( It will light up caps lock and that is toggleable, but nothing sent to the computer afaik.

It came with a ps/2 to din5 cable and din5 to ps/2 adaptor, and I got another ps/2 to ps/2 cable and a ps/2 to USB. No difference in behavior...caps lock light works.
I've tried what I think was every dip switch combo, nothing. Open to any suggestions...

no idea if it uses some custom firmware, I can probably handle dumping the rom if thats a thing.

Thanks!

You might want to try a different adapter, or even make your own.  Thomas "Chryrosran22" had an Ultra that was very iffy, but it turned out to have a bad capacitor.
