Igris V1: Throwback to Cone Feet
iC FORM (https://forms.gle/zueBjjMBGku8raho8)
Technical Specs & Information
- WKL TKL
- 0.25mm engraving
- 20mm tall flat keyboard with screw in cone feet to adjust the angle.
- Top Mount only (sorry no gaskets)
- 2mm polycarbonate plate and 1.5mm aluminum plate Koala/Whale/Jane V2 compatible plate
- 15 mm feet = 8°
- 13 mm feet = 7°
- 11 mm feet = 5°
- H87A compatible
- Prototype made in 6063 aluminum
Price
- 30 Units: $500
- 100 Units: $400
Unfortunately, even though cone feet is supposed to be a cost savings measure, low quantity runs cannot pass the cost savings to us. I will update when I get a quote for 100 units if there is enough interest.
Feedback on Colors???
My philosophy with colors is to be as simple as possible to avoid as many quality and matching issues. I do not plan on entertaining custom colors or any other color than what I have specified. Thank you.
- Space Gray with Red Plate?
- Black or e-Black with Red Plate?
- Red with Black Plate?
Engraving
I currently have my last name engraved on the keyboard
(https://i.imgur.com/6Ry9Oud.jpg)
I am open to engraving the Igris name on the board, or offer no engraving option, the factory does seem to mind engraving

Obligatory and Unnecessary Keyboard Lore for Geekhack Interest Checks
The keyboard is named after Sung Jin-Woo's summoning, Blood Red Commander Igris from the LN and Manwha Solo Leveling by Chu-Gong. The keyboard design was inspired by old school Korean customs. Reserved for answering questions and addressing feedback
P.S. Heading to bed, so I'll check in the morning.
P.P.S If I'm not responsive, I'm probably playing Genshin Impact.
H87C or USB C options?
Maybe in the future, but there are many H87A available and I personally want to use the H87A I've purchased.
F13?
Maybe in the future, F13 requires a redesign of the top piece and redesigned plate. It won't be called the Igris V1, maybe a different version.
Will it be stable?
Stable on the table

It's intended as a throwback to early kustom designs, but those are exactly the kind of designs that have withstood the test of time that I want to reintroduce into the hobby. Also most of these cone feet kustoms that used to be dirt cheap are $1000-3000+ nowadays :(

still cheaper than an aftermarket DGE :))

Interested!

Dear Invis,
It's tree leaf approved. Thank you very very much for making it. If I ever get over my love for the Column stagger then I will definitely consider this.
Does it support split BS or stepped Capslk

Prototype plates fit stepped caps and full size backspace. You can use Hiney's universal PCB or another drop in replacement like Mechlovin's pcb/plate assume it fits the Jane V2.

not you.
Anyways, always wanted a modernized duck saver. So In.

nice concept, love cone feet.
confused as to how $500 is justified though honestly, would like to hear more on that.

Cone Feet in small quantities is not actually cheap to make, my proto was $50 a foot, in addition to paying for the rest of the keyboard. It's about $350 just to get the board from the factory to me, then you'll need a PCB, and then shipping... The margins for 30 units is not as large as it seems.

i miss my kmac let's get it

Prolly different aesthetic design for Beru ;)

such a big fan of the early custom boards with cone feet, this looks really really great. both engravings look good, but i think i prefer the original engraving over the igris one. will definitely follow this :thumb:
-
Looks nice!
-
Cone feet are not really my jam, but the proto looks great! Excited to see more throwback boards. GLWIC

Interesting
-
maxf had a small stream for the 2mm polycarbonate build!
Seems like a total winner!

This looks like a Aliexpress aluminium Filco case, but 3 times the price.
-
The proto looked very nice invis. Whilst i personally prefer a thiccboi chassis, this is something I will keep my eye on. I always wanted to try a 0 degree board, outside of pizza80 there isnt much
-
Not going to lie I came here expecting something from the solo leveling web comic lol looks good though
-
I like it, interested (once the price drops :D). Filled out the form.
-
This is a nice keyboard.

500$ for cones noty

- I've gotten over 30 responses, so I'm hoping we get enough people for an upcoming price drop.
- This is an IC, if you have any constructive criticism or any kind of real feedback, I'd like to hear it.
- 30 Unit margins sucks for the customers, no way around it. It's about $400 in raw materials to get to me
- Would you rather pay $1k for a KMAC with a sus PCB, or $3k for a DGE?
- Even at $500, I think it's still better than half the custom keyboards in GB and IC.

Next version I promise!

If I could make as many boards as the aliexpress aluminum filco case, I could cut the price down by 3 times. Also the factory is going to way better quality than the aliexpress board.

sad but true

I like this.
Also: Nice backyard.
-
I love the stepped "Devo hat" style feet.

Was a great build and sound test. Is the DGE side-by-side still planned? Wouldn’t sway me either way, this board is on definitely my wishlist, but curious how some of the cone feet boards compare (KMAC and LZ-GH would be cool comparisons as well...)

is this font supposed to look like the TGR branding? I am curious as to whether it is specifically TGR or just a korean custom thing I don't know of :p
(https://i.imgur.com/ARYQYDP.png)
I guess it does have the OTD-esque font too.. initially got TGR vibes because of the cut through the letters!!

Hi Everyone, small update, I got a quote back for 100 units. It should be $400 before shipping. This includes a 2mm polycarbonate plate, 1.5mm aluminum plate, and Hineybush H87A included to the board (1 set of cone feet).

400 for both plates and a pcb is killer, crossing my fingers that i'm able to nab one!

Cones are nice. I want in

Hi everyone, I'll be trying to start gb on Monday November 30th? So long as the GB page is up, all the info will be there. Final price for for the board is $420, I miscalculated the cost of the cone feet. ~80 units for gb, rest will be overhead in case of b-stock.

Where will be the GB held (site/vendor)? What are final colors and will the Porsche Design text still be an option?

Pretty sure Shopify offers international shipping? If there's a big problem with the shipping cost, I'll figure something out. I have some EU friends that want a board too. I will not be trying to exclude anyone explicitly!

When the GB page goes live (haven't finished writing it, that's my fault), I'll be linking my own shopify store for checkout, there's going to be an option for the logo.
Please let this be an international GB...MY BODY NEEDS THIS
I'll do my best! If shopify is stopping international shipping, I'll just have to figure out something manually.
-
Is there an estimated ship time you are expecting for this project? And will you notify via the IC post once the GB goes live here; sorry can't really find a lot of info on this GB and I am interested in buying.
