Would never have gone anywhere.

Wrong plug.

Should've gone for C-3PO instead - "fluent in over six million forms of communication" including one very important one.

Is that image from the episode where Donald started an avalanche by singing?

If so, the lyrics were totally different in Norwegian (beyond the obvious translation issue).

[edit: Scratch that - obviously a montage of a DD image with a Linkin Park song text. Question remains though: Is that an image from that avalanche story?]

On a related note, it's funny how Donald Duck has always been the most popular of all Disney characters here. Mickey Mouse is very rarely featured anywhere, mostly because here he is considered an arrogant and annoying little *****.

Same here. Even annoying pricks in Germany think Mickey Mouse is an annoying prick. Go figure. Donald is wildly popular.

Yes, it's from that avalanche cartoon. It goes by the name "The Screaming Cowboy" in English, and it's one of my favourite Barks stories. The lyrics were completely different in the Finnish version, too, but when I compare the translation and the original, for me, the translation takes the cake. It was called "Itkevä merimies", which translates roughly to "the crying seaman". Great stuff.

[...]

Sorry for derailing the thread, back to your scheduled Lego porn.

Re-derailing in progress (given that the rail at the moment really consists of mickey mouse tits?!?):

'Oh, skćnk mig en grav
ved(/i) det isgrřnne hav
hvor kun břlgerne hřrer min grĺd.'

'Oh, grant me a grave
By(/in) the ice-green sea
Where only the swells hear my cries.'

It's mostly the same across the Scandinavian versions, apparently. A beautifully hopeless translation of the original, beautifully hopeless ballad of the screaming cowboy. The screaming guitar drowns fittingly in the endless Norse ocean. RIP. My own rendition of this classic arranged for baritone and out-of-tune ukulele is most touching (in all the naughty places).
