Well of course that isn't a good price for only a spacebar. I was merely giving an example not really suggesting you should buy it.
Yes GMK can make 7x spacebar. It is hard to say if the current buy will succeed but it is not looking great right now.

Would that be a POM spacebar also, or is it ABS?

Yeah, sorry. I didn't take your example as a suggestion. Still thanks.

Generally Cherry use the same material for the entire set so it should be POM, but occasionally they use ABS so I can't make a gaurantee.

If you're looking for aliens maybe you should try some space invaders.

I'm about to ship out some Dolch Pac caps, how should I pack it? As in should I really wrap up the spacebar and large keys? I've been sent keys in some clever packages.
I have never shipped anything in my life... Besides RMA :)

Bubble wrap and baggies. Put everything in a bubble mailer. Or if you're really paranoid, those little flat-rate boxes, wrapping, and stuffing like plastic bags/peanuts/styrofoam.

So as a general consensus do you guys prefer heavy or light keyboards for something that does not commute?

I like heavy keyboards for stationary keyboards (and mobile keyboards). They feel more solid/well built.

I think merely being heavy isn't the whole story.  More than anything else, they need to be solid.  A stable footing makes it feel planted.  That means an even base with good rubber feet.  Good construction is also imporant.  Everything needs to be tight so it doesn't rattle, ping and vibrate.  With those two things, the keyboard could be fairly light and still "feel" like a heavy board.

weight often denotes quality. Best way to test the quality of a power supply is to pick up the cables in one hand and the supply in the other.

On the other hand I've seen Chinese electronic knockoffs with a chunk of metal in them to make them seem more sturdy haha.

How do I get power to the esc key led on a Poker when both of the silver O rings came off? No solder is able to stick when these are off, as you of course know :D

I am not really an electronics guy but I do have a basic knowledge.  Correct me if I am wrong guys.  But I think you will have to scratch off the top protective layer above the trace and solder a wire from the trace to the LED leads.  To my knowledge Radio Shack sells fiber glass abrasive pens which this job is pretty much what they were made for.  I could be way off base but that would be where I would start thinking of heading.

You're correct.  You can do it with an Exacto knife as well, it's just recommended that you be careful with it when doing so.  If you want a quick and dirty solution and can see the traces, you can just bridge the trace with a small gauge wire where the land broke off to where the trace(s) leads.  I had a land pop off of my RK-9000 when I was swapping switches and had another with a questionable land.  I just did the wire bridge instead of exposing the trace on the PCB.

Are you asking about the graphic? You could conceivably get a white spacebar and dyesub something like that on it.

Yeah about the graphics. It sucks that I can't get this done on black spacebar :( You can't dyesub light stuff on dark stuff or something like that, right?

I think WASD keyboard offers a service for silk-screening an image on keycaps.  Look at the Walt Di$ney image spanning multiple keys in the link:

Some people have been able to somehow dyesub onto dark keys, maybe by doing a double shot first, then dyesubbing the "first shot," while the "second shot" is the dark base.

Except that WASD only does laser etching. So you have a monochrome image. No color.

2) Where does everyone get their LEDs from?

According to these pics, it's plate mounted. And I've confirmed this with missalaire who owns that board.

2) I imagine McMasterCarr would have them as well. Seems like a lot of people order from eBay though.

McMaster Carr doesn't have them. They have small bulbs, but those won't work with a keyboard.

I get my LEDs from mouser and digikey if I need to buy them by specs, mainly wavelength and brightness. You also get them faster. Ebay is by far the cheapest, but most are from China and you'll have to wait a couple weeks. You can't really pick and choose which brightness you want, and you can't choose which shade of a color you want (wavelength). US does not have purple or pink, and only ebay has pink.

mcmaster carr has tons of selection more for hardware, digikey and mouser are better for electronics.

Second the recommendation for Mouser, they have fantastic customer service.  I also ran across the site below when searching for specialty LEDs, they are based in Missouri and seem to have a decent selection.  Haven't ordered from them, so I can't speak to delivery times/service.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/through-hole/

They don't have purple, but they do have violet, and pink:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/through-hole/5mm-pink-led-45-degree-viewing-angle-300-mcd/295/1222/

A bit pricy, though...

The stickers go between the top and bottom halves off the switch housing. It reduces movement of the switch housing itself, which eliminates any "wobble" of the switch.

Lubing the sliders of the stem makes the switches feel smoother, and reduces or eliminates any "grittiness" feel of the switches. Lubing the springs reduces or eliminates any squeaking sound coming from the spring movement inside the switch.

You can also specify the height and width of your image, or, if you just specify one of the other, the system will adjust the size based on that dimension and keeping the ratio.

For instance:
Code: [Select]

I just type the code out when I'm on my tablet. Works easier for me.

Like on the forum you can hit the button and paste a link or on mobile there's a button to host. I just type the tags out.
