Welcome to my GMK Evil Dolch Group Buy!

Hey everyone! S3LQ here, hoping everyone is doing good in this pandemic, I am at least holding up. I recently joined this hobby and think this is great! Love how welcoming the community is, and how helpful people are! So since I've basically been stuck here in my home in Norway, I thought why not combine my 6 years experience of designing and try to design a keycap set and even some deskmats!

Inspiration

I see a lot of designers bringing inspiration from a certain theme, for me, it was quite different. I do obviously have inspirations, but not inspirations I thought it would be cool to design the theme around. So rather I chose a name. I wanted to design a set called "Zoom", I thought it was a great name and I just kept on designing after the name. After posting the IC I got a lot of feedback about the name. And after reading through a lot of you guys' feedback, I figured a name change was the move. I wanted a fitting name for the colors and novelties. So I chose the name, Evil Dolch!

I've collaberated with Swiftcables and we've made 4 different custom coiled cable variants with colored aviators that's matching GMK Evil Dolch! We have 2 different paracords, Black paracord with black tech-flex and Red Camo paracord with carbon tech-flex. Both paracords will come with a coil and a colored aviator where the customer can decide between red or black! These cables will be sold through: Projectcables.com

I really think it's important to note that these renders are not a true representation of what this keyset is going to look like. It's upsetting to me that this GB went live with renders that are off from the actual colors.

I really hope you get these renders updated quickly to match what the colors should actually be.

I'm going to pass on the set, but have to get that swirl deskmat. That's my favorite deskmat I have seen anywhere and I am really not a big fan of red. I would love to see that design in multiple different colors. I would pick up one in nearly every color.

I placed my keycap order through Kono Store for US and their latest update says September for Keycaps. It seems they do weekly updates so that could be accurate. If it is then it’s a bummer but I know a lot of GMK GBs are delayed

I just got mine in the mail today. The connector doesn't seem to be as vibrant of a red as it was in the picture (I think it's a bit closer to the red used in the pics of the keyset), but honestly I'm still happy with it!

There was never color matching needed because us choosing to run with GMK stock colors only.

The set is still estimated to be finished during September month. The set got heavily affected by the plastic sourcing issue GMK had, this pushed tons of sets back, but hopefully, they are all back on track soon!

It seems other later GMK sets are arriving (i.e. Hammerhead) and we have no update about Evil Dolch?

Thanks for the photos, mods are not looking as I expected, although this was my first GMK GB so it's my wrong expectation (OK, initial renders misrepresented colours a bit as well).
Anyway, now I know dark legends on dark caps are surely not for me.
It just arrived Today (UK) but will probably let it go to someone who will appreciate it more.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of inactivity lately, but been a bit hectic with Christmas and New Year! Hope everyone had an amazing holiday and stayed safe!

GMK Evil Dolch is now shipping to vendors, and from some vendors. Some vendors have longer shipping routes from GMK, so it will take a little longer. But it's on its way!

I'm getting my sets delivered this/next week, so will do some proper photos to show how it ended up. So far from what I've seen, I'm very happy with the results, and I hope you will also be so!

I'm in the same boat for deskmat. Tried to reach out to him, but got no response. Guess we are SOL. I'm atleast happy the caps showed up.
