Made a sheath today. All I need is some snaps. I tried to copy the Ka-Bar sheeth.

Nice work
I'm wondering..are your stitch holes lasered, or Dremeled? I think you've done beautiful even stitching, so I'm wondering, cause there's clearly some spacing there that's pretty wide even for that thread thickness.
Also I gotta say that hard 90 degree corner on the top edge concerns me, like you could edge that a little better for durability.. I know you said you had an edge beveller tool somewhere.. but personally I am still learning how amazingly perfect a leather edge can be when you put the full time and effort in to finishing it. Currently I am using a curve chisel set for corners, Chinese ones off ebay so not too costly, but some quick knife cuts and sanding would work nicely too and I use this too a lot.
Imo I would seriously consider a Japanese edge beveller like http://goodsjapan.com/kyoshin-elle-leathercraft-deluxe-leather-edge-beveller--sharpener-08mm-edger-1-419-p.asp for the weight of leather you work in. Goods Japan is a good dude, I order from him all the time. It's really useful to have the sharpening kit too that comes with it,
Oh, I'm awful at doing my own stitching. I used the laser cutter for everything. It dramatically decreases the amount of time I would have spent otherwise. I made a brush in Illustrator for the stitch holes.
Are you referring to the holes that are cut into the leather for the strap? In this case I'm not overly concerned. I have no intention of using the knife. I already have a handful of sheath knives for activities like camping. This one has too much sentimental value to lose in the woods.
You're leather work is incredible. I think your edges look fantastic. My edge beveller is somewhere. I'm hesitant to buy a new one, even a inexpensive Chinese one, because as soon as I do I'll find my own. I really want to get into stains in the near future.
If I end up giving hope of ever finding mine I'd definitely want to go with something quality. I'll have to keep that one in mind.
One of my near future projects is making a holster for my .357. I found the holster pictured in a bunch of boxes. Someone cut a portion of the holster off. It was also made for a revolver with a longer barrel. I like the design though, so I'm going to use it as a template. Someday I want to make a leather holster for all of my handguns. I just wish I had that much time.
