Weird german Model M - 1369274
« on: Sat, 15 October 2016, 04:54:40 »
First sorry for my bad grammar and spelling!

So my parents cleaned up and found a weird Model M keyboad. It's a german keyboard with qwertz layout. Weird thing - it doesn't have a IBM or Lexmark logo, instead it has a squared logo from the german comany MS Elektronik GmbH. On the back side it says:

Kybd No: 1369274 - couldn't find the number on Wikipedia or other sites
I.D. No: 5001268
Date 06-08-93
Plt No: F7
Model  M
Made in the USA
Manufactuired by Lexmark

To bad they haven't found the cable yet, but it's problaby somewhere, I told them to look for it.

Is the keyboard worth something? If it's working I problaby use it on my own.

Well, it's at the very least interesting!

It's in the same vein as the GE healthcare unicomp model Ms that got sold recently. OEM'd by Lexmark (in your case)/Unicomp (for the GE boards) but since the order was large enough/the company had enough clout, the branding is that of the ordering company.
GTSI, Allen Bradley, and Lynk are a few others that had model Ms made with their logos.

The whole thing is pretty unique though. There aren't too many company-branded model Ms out there, and European layout ones are also less common than ANSI layout ones.

Does it have a SDL cable connection on it like most other modular Ms?
