by the way, are you the same cal as on KBD who has the same avatar?
Is Raptor K1 Gaming a rebranded of G80 G1800?I believe so because inlikeflynn wanted one, and I'm pretty sure he got it :p
Yes, it is. And yes, he did. Speaking of, flynn, which did you get? I know it was ISO, but was it the one with NKRO and Doubleshots? Or...?
I was talking to lysol about that. He's uncertain whether the controller may support more than 2KRO or not with the addition of diodes. We both want to try it out. But I don't have diodes...I have a ton of diodes, need some?
If you don't like it and can't find a trade, let me know. I will take it off your hands.
its basically impossible to find the ANSI K1 anymore. If you already have the ISO one and don't like the layout, then just cheat and put an 1863/5/7 into the K1 case like thisShow Image(http://[http://i.imgur.com/2QD5Bd6.jpg)
I'm also not sure on all the tricks of what controller swaps will or won't work to get > 2KRO. From what i've tried to read on KBD, it seems that they have managed to replace the controller with one from another Cherry board and add diodes successfully though

That looks great. How much does the 1863+ series costs? I have one iso Raptor K1 coming as well.

inside the US you can get a G80-1865LXNEU-2 for $125 shipped. that is assuming you want browns and will just throw away the lasered keys
from taobao you can get all other switch types in an 1865, but after shipping will run you closer to $200shipped to the US
You can also get 1867's from korea for about $200 shipped to the US. so those would be english+Hangul lasered caps.
if you're in Malaysia, i'd try the taobao or korean route to get an 1865/1867 ansi layout board
yea the 186x boards are never cheap when new. Even used ones seem to always be much more expensive than 1800 ones
here are two 1800s of mineHoly smokes! Those are freaking gorgeous.

Check taobao. There is often some decent ones on there if they are actually available to buy. Zenuty's 1838 are not that bad of a deal. Pretty much only winkeyless model with browns that was made and the have a really white white doubleshots keycaps.
In general 1800 models are probably most common with blacks. 1813 have blues, 1838 and 186* have browns. It's also possible to get 186* model with reds and 1800 with clears though they are considerably harder to find.1865 has reds and 1824 has clears..right?
So I finally got one!! Of course I forgot to bring it to work today.... ???

1800HQU I see on taobao now and then. Usually with beige though, black is kind of unusual.
Nice find, spam-man! Jealous.
It's actually a frankestein board with a G81-1800HQAUS case and 1819HEU w/clears for guts!! ;D
Thanks!
Finally some more pictures of and details about the scitex 1824 HAU
It is quite the beautiful board, and I am thankful tinlong sold it to me :)
The keys are pretty much unused, but some are scratched and the case is especially scratched. So it looks like it just moved around on a shelf for its whole life.

You know I'd buy that!! ;)
I'm considering once the designs for my TKL/60%/1800 are complete, I want to do something different besides the normal acrylic case GB.
A GB where we can have funky cases made, eg, the school bus case, maybe a pikachu case.
We can have maybe 4-5 designs in different form factors, because I see there are many members with families and young children here on GH, and I know for a fact that you want to treat them with awesome keyboards, and thus these colorful funky cases.

My first mechanical keyboard arrived today finally. For 10€ there is nothing to complain about and I´m already loving the layout :thumb:
It features black MX switches and it is to early to tell if Ill stick to it. What is this grey spacebar switch all about? Never read about "grey" MX switches anyway.
I would really appreciate if somebody could give me a hind where Ill could find cheap blank alpha caps shipping to germany. Banggood is still the cheapest vendor...

Cherry always has a stiffer switch for the spacebar than the other keys, so that is what linear gray spacebar switch is for
good luck on getting a complete set of blank keys to fit the entire 1800 layout though as they don't exist...or do they:

It'll probably go into the collection and occasionally gets fondled. Semi-interesting is that this keyboard is based on an EU ANSI board (see the Euro sign). I've always thought China Cherry distributor imported US ANSI boards.

Lol, I have also tried to contact that idiot for two years now, either he scams people, is too stupid to figure out how to sell anything over dba or plain simply don't want to sell anything.
I once phoned him with luck asking for that exact keyboard and he told me to just write him a mail, which I had done multiply times already and also did again... He never replied or picked up the phone again.
But I think it's a G81 if I have to be honest, but still nice caps. I would love the 1.5 mods on it.
I've tried contacting the seller way back, without luck. He doesn't respond (at least in my case he didn't)

That's a nice keyboard you have there. Doubleshot keycaps and it should have MX clear switches. Doubleshots in Spanish layout aren't common. It looks very dirty though, not NIB

Thank youShow Image(http://www.subeimagenes.com/img/img-20140427-171608-944281.html)
Nice find, that is very lucky as those are quite rare... first I have seen even outside of model number lists.

Thank you Ivan.
I was comparing my 1814 with the 1813 model and are the same. I think that the different number is because is... Spanish?? In any case it is a "mx clear" keyboard and that is very interesting too.
Now I have to clean it "in a easy way" (because I am not capable to dismount it)
HEU.
Oh, I forgot the 1814 was the platemounted one.

I've had this about as long as I've been a member here... I could never get her to work but sooner or later I'll send it to one of are many wizards...They talk PS/2 and there is a handset style socket inside the case so it should be as simple as crimping an adapter cable and installing it. The pins are GND, +5V, kb data, kb clock, in that order (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rj45plug-8p8c.png).
Hopefully they can breathe some life into this old grrrl :))Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/OiqGIUg.jpg)
It should be as simple as crimping a cable with PS/2 at the other end, unscrewing the box, plugging it in and screwing it back together again. The hole the cable comes out of might need to be enlarged if the cable is not thin enough. Beware that screws come in two lengths: two long screws in the back, three short in the front.
There is also an adapter cable of some sorts inside the Dolch computer case... but it is not as easy to get out.
BTW, here are mine. One acquired five years ago, one last week.Show Image(http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b345/DarthLars/Keyboard/dolches.jpg)
I don't get how you guys find these things for so cheap...For me it was only luck. I got the first one right when the Dolch had become known. The computer with the ANSI one was posted in a Great Finds thread on DT, and I lived nearby so I got it if only to save the computer. The seller would have thrown the whole computer away if someone hadn't taken it. When we talked, we found out that I had been workmate with one his sons for three years, so he was extra nice and swung by my house with a Dolch carrying bag and Dolch driver diskettes a few days later. :)

I bought an extra PCB for my Dolch board to originally try out some mods on, but I think what I might end up doing is swap the switches, and then possibly swap the Lock LEDs to Pink or something

I didn't read the comment thread at first, and though you actually did it. And you angled the text in the wrong direction, it should be slanting in the other direction, if you look at the slant of the text, and then the slant of the keycaps, it looks like it is tenting. Anyways, nice board, makes me want a plain white 1800 case

No I didn't have a leeku and the layout works for me. Was a lot of soldering since the browns came from another g80, so I desoldered twice and soldered once.

HOLY BOJANGLES, mane... that's absolutely bootiful
T_____T
So good. You a lucky man, mane.
What switches? Must be a dream to type on.
I'm with you, my brother. Goupil cases are absolutely beautiful, and I wish I had one too. The angled all-round bezel edge is amazing.
Lubed 60g vintage blacks
It's been a joy typing on these. Finally got to feel the vintage cherry switches and now I'm curious if there is a source for vintage clears.
Board is heavy as balls though. I laughed maniacally when I was unpacking it.
Yes...
Don't you feel like you wanna keep rubbing your fingers along those angled bezel?
that satisfying feel hahaha
Been rarely see you around here T_T you need to be more active

I'm designing an 1800 PCB... not that there's anything wrong with the Leeku 1800 PCB... I just like designing PCBs and want to run TMK on it.
I bought my Dolch PAC so I could reverse-engineer the dimensions/mount hole locations, and then fell in love with it and haven't used anything else since.
I'm keen to collaborate and make my 1800 PCB compatible with any plans for an 1800 case. ;D
Would it have backlighting support?

Then I noticed I got too used to BS to easily switch back to blacks. Also I can barely type my password on these blanks. :-X

I've get this one for 2 days and already done some simple cleaning work.
Not very good looking and 4 keycaps are missing. But still, I like it. Later maybe I will get some more keycaps to 'dress' it. Then I'll be back to show more pics.

Can't wait to see when you have it modded ~
**** yeah :3 I'm using it now so I can get used to the layout, then hopefully it will have SKIDATA+ on it... As much as I love the German legends :( I'm so tempted to try and find a set of Cherry UK ISO alphas and just keep the German mods...

Yeah, you'll get used the layout pretty fast. Only major change would be if you're used to winkey and then switching to WKL.
But yeah, having a foreign layout can be tricky. Luckily, Azerty didn't give me any issues because I'm typing ANSI and I touchtype so the legends don't bug me too much :P
I'd say wait for that SKIDATA+, m8. It's going to look so good.
I got a couple of bros that are going to look hella sweet with it too... :3

Its leeku's 1800 PCB, and LZ made some milled + brushed aluminum top and bottom layers, with 3 acrylic mid layers. Not as fancy as LZ's modern boards, but if you are interested there is Meiosis' ComPact SQ 1800 with an option for "Alu Skin" (same idea, different form factor) https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=76617.msg1917524
My plan is to get both versions of the alu skin together and hope they make me beautiful aluminum babies :p. Just gotta figure out which one is the male and which is the female... :))

Ah ok thank you, I did see the Compact SQ group buy but regrettably passed on it. I'd like to have a full alu board, I know the LZ CP isn't exactly the same but that may be on my wish list now.

Its the rarest 1800's to find and its the BLACK version which i haven't even been able to find pictures of elsewhere.
Plus, there is no shine on the caps, already sent a message to Bunny to see if I can buy a += keycap from the JTK first run as a replacement.
I found a Focus FK-9000 the same day and pulled a G80-1600HAU from the same place before Christmas as well as a bunch of rarer alps keyboards like a Texas Instruments branded Acer KB-101A and an SGI Granite PS2 as well as some not-so-rare mech keyboards. I prefer a PCB + Plate mounted feel and don't generally care for MX clears, but these feel so much nicer than another MX clear board I have (pok3r). If this is what Zealios feel like, I finally get it.

Fred's warehouse of fun, which was up for the picking for Dallas Makerspace members on certain days. I have pulled Tons of Techflex, Shrinktube, Mil-spec SPC Teflon wire, a Tektronix Logic Analyzer (still working, with PODs, and even found the matching MX black Tektronix keyboard for it today which is really pretty), Power Conditioners, and even a few Variable Power supplies.
Tons of other stuff I haven't yet posted anywhere. However, I have given away many to friends and family with no mech keyboards (Mostly Del At-101/w's I put new ALPs keycaps on from the MD GB). I have picked over everything that looked salvegable though, but there are some old WYSE terminal boards still left in the joint with vintage MX blacks as well as a rubber-dome Model M which is in good shape. Some keyboards, especially the XT ones, will likely be given to other members of the Vintage Computer Club who are in need (bunch of cool old funky layouts).
Its mostly been Clean, Fix, Test mode lately with many of them. Even got an Alps 1800-style board with Trackpad out of there which is also going to a friend who does CAD and needs the numpad, but looking for a compact.

It is HARD work pulling some of these out of here and I have gone through almost every inch of the place. There is an IBM compatible HP Spectre in the back that is complete (matching monitor and Keyboard) in great shape as well. I even got a brand new case for my IBM 5150 and Matching original Monitor of which he has sooo many.
Loving this board.

I am ready to join soon this gentlemen club of 1800 owners, but have to attach an USB cable to the keyboard - and need an hole in the case therefor. Or should I go with PS/2 and an original untouched cable?
If you use the Dolch case, you can use USB without visible holes :)

Does that mean you figured what was up with your pcb ?
Here is my entry for this noble 1800 owners club. It is a new G81 case, with a Leeku MX 1800 PCB (v3), unlubed and unstickered MX Reds (but with 55g SPRiT springs), and a mixture of ANSI and ISO German caps. Unfortunately the ANSI set I bought a while ago from Taobao were in a weird profile, and so I mixed the sets. Also i have to re-solder the right ALT switch, it is askew!dam that is smoking hot great picsShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/JY4IhDP.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/7fHuARb.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/mogzOyC.jpg)

I will make one later, basically I just had to make a cutout for the USB plug. A sharp knive is enough for cutting the case.
Regarding the LED I used one I got from SPRiT (I think he added a RGB set to every order I made), and it glows red now.

I'm planning out a Leeku 1800 build right now, and I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if the original PS/2 cables work alright via USB with a converter? I prefer the look of the OG coiled PS/2 cables, but I'd still like some USB action. :))Now, that would be something! I would also like to know this. Double win if that is the case, no need to cut the case _and_ original coiled cable... Yummy!

Yeah, those were my thoughts too. I don't really want to cut the case, so I'll deal with PS/2 if I have to. The cable is sexy enough to make up for it. PS/2 is inconvenient for board swapping though..

I finally finished this yesterday:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/HaYyYni.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/uDxq7Y6.jpg)
Bit of a Frankenboard; case and caps are from a G81 (notably all caps on the four upper rows are D-profile), switches are from an old 1800HAD (lubed and spring swapped to 62g - smooth as butter) and the PCB is a Leeku.
Unfortunately, the cap donor was two caps short. I didn't think this would be a problem until I realized it had all-D-profile on the top four rows, meaning that I came up empty trying to find suitable caps for page up and print screen. Bummer.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/iWv2Que.jpg)
I'll be joining this awesome club momentarily. I just got all the parts!
I'm putting a Leeku 1800 with plate in a G81-1800 case. How did those of you with the similar setup route the cable? Did you
1. Cut a hole in the middle to use the mini B on the PCB
2. Solder a USB A cable to the 4 pins above the F6 key
3. Some other way
I'm trying to figure out a way to put a detachable cable on without cutting too many holes in the case.

My board doesn't travel, so having a detachable cable was not a priority. I soldered the USB cable directly to the PCB and routed the cable along the same path as the AT cable.
Vespersaint told me that you can fit the pcb inside the case without modifying, there is also a labled spot to solder a USB cable :) That should work fine for you.
god that is a lovely pic. I'm gonna build a similar one once I get back home. I already got all the parts :P

Correct. The PCB fits inside of the case, with no interference, even if you don't cut the case for the mini USB port. You can cut a hole in the case and use the mini USB connector that is on the PCB, or you can solder the cable directly to the PCB. Either way works

Wait, so someone sold you an 1800 with dolch caps? Are they GMK or OG Dolch?
This might be one of the rare Dolch Keyboards https://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_G80-1813 , and if this is the case I wouldn't mod it. 1800 case are easy to find and cheap, it would be a shame to mod something rare, if this is the case.
Maybe you can post more details :)
Ok, so it's not something rare :)) It's a frankenboard, a G81 case, a PCB from another board (maybe Dolch ?? ) and Dolch keycaps . But a not bad find :)
I think if you open it you will see that the PS/2 cable is soldered on the PCB or something like that.
Found this piece at taobao and got it for 110usd. Model is G81-1800
just received it not more than an hour ago. unpacked and find the condition of the keyboard is almost like new except a small scratch on the spacebar.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/U5Rv9ka.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/OvJagmx.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/dj0SnNV.jpg)
started typing on it and this how i feel generally,
- the switches feels a bit clumsy, not as crisp as my other blue switches
- the typing experience feels hollow, very plastic
- key caps are 99.5% brand new. Love the caps
- Love the layout, good for working and even gaming.
- the case is way too thin, when you accidentally tap on it you can actually hear that hollow plastic sound.
Plans
- changing the pcb (possibly leeku with plate)
- lube all the switches or even maybe changing them
- add LEDs, orange is my color
- spray the case to dolch color
- custom a usb cable for it
- custom pvc sticker for the num lock, caps lock and scroll lock indicators.
Would love to hear what you guys think about the mods im gonna make. any suggestions?

- changing the pcb (possibly leeku with plate)
- lube all the switches or even maybe changing them
- add LEDs, orange is my color
- spray the case to dolch color
- custom a usb cable for it
- custom pvc sticker for the num lock, caps lock and scroll lock indicators.
Would love to hear what you guys think about the mods im gonna make. any suggestions?
$110 is a nice price for that...
Sometimes MX blues can vary for whatever reason, and that board looks like it has some newer MX blues. Just swap some vintage blues in and it'll be much nicer to use :), easy to find, just need a "Dolch" G80-1813, the slider color is lighter than what's in your board right now.
Personally, I wouldn't mod it much beyond swapping in some new switches/sliders. Enjoy it for what it is!
$5  :eek:I have to build something to put these on now. I don't have any complete mx boards :p

G80-1851, MX Black, most of 'em. Plus a couple of 1800s and one G81.
I'm doing a little research on degreasers and some whitening process that won't break the polymers, any pointers?
A couple of cases, the worst ones, will be sacrificed for tests.

When I asked Leeku about the 1800 PCB, he said that adding RGB LED to the PCB will render it incompatible with the 1800 case, anybody know why?

Hi Elth, could you please post pics of the areas on the plastic case you had to cut/file down to acommodate Leeku's plate/PCB?
I went in not knowing that the case needed to be cut, so pretty much everything is done except that.
Someone that has an spare 1.75u shift? I'd take any color, any type of legend, any material, as long as it is in Cherry profile, if you want to overwhelm me offer me a pair with its matching 2.25u shift.

I could find you a whole NIB set of caps, but probably not just that right shift :(

I went in not knowing that the case needed to be cut, so pretty much everything is done except that.
I've circled the areas on the plate that interfere with the top case; the cuts are very small except for the piece in between the F-row and number row. Also, I'm not 100% on the spot above the Esc and the spot below where the 3 indicator LED's are, but when you try to assemble you'll see if it needs to be cutShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/oS038lv.jpg)

Thanks Elth, I've identified the same 7 points - that was the easy bit. What I'm struggling with is gauging/measuring how much of plastic from each section needs to be removed. I thought I'd just go for it & started filing the left arrow key section but it was so slow, imprecise and messy that I just gave up. Maybe I'm not using the right tools.
On top of that, I'm not sure how the cable is supposed to be routed as there doesn't seem to be enough space left inside the case (unless the preexisting USB-mini socket can somehow be repositioned, or there's a daughterboard/other parts I'm either missing or unaware of).
It's frustrating to be stuck at this stage as all the electronics work has been done.

g80-1800, temporarily with lasered keys, while waiting for gmk beige doubleshots....
Spring swapped with sprit 50gr springs... The uniqey clips precompress the spring, so the switch becomed heavier; to better approximate mx reds I used some lighter springs, which makes them almost indistinguable from cherry mx reds (wich are a little bit heavier, we are talking about a couple of grams). I lubed only the base of the spring by dipping them in krytox oil (from sprit too).
Completely silenced with gmk uniqey clips. Oh, the joy!!!!!

I tried it, because it is cool to mod your keycaps I heard.
And surprisingly it writes perfectly fine. :D
Very nice thread. <3Nothing wrong with the Raptor K1. It is a great little board and those GID keycaps can be a very stylish addition when done right.
I am a G80-1800 fan myself. To be more accurate I am a Raptor Gaming K1 fan.
I bought my first K1 more than 10 years ago:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/7NpDjy9.jpg)
It has Cherry MX-Blacks, GER ISO layout, laser-etched keycaps.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/dRWL8jJ.jpg)
You may notice that the keycaps have the typical ABS shine to them. I don't mind. This baby has been my main keyboard for the whole time. Back when I bought it there was no real mecha-community. In fact I had to defend it more than once on a LAN party ("OMG? Why didn't you get a G15 with display and backlight?"). I wrote papers on it (from the first day of university until I graduated!), played probably more than 10k hours with it. You are still able to read every key's printing (makes you wonder: WHO NEEDS DOUBLESHOTS ANYWAY? :P). So what's the problem?! I still dig the layout and it works flawlessly. Hopefully always will.
I hesitated some time to post this because image quality isn't great and the keyboard isn't anything special when you take away the 10+ years of usage it lived through. Hope (some of) you like it!
Well and that's pretty much all I can post. I have some more K1s but they are all factory new (back when Raptor was bought by Corsair you could get them for down to 15€ on ebay and I once bought a whole stash of OEM-packaged ones) so I guess posting them would be kinda super boring, because I only got ISO-GERs (laser etched, not a single DS! :() and AZERTYs (all DS AFAIR).
I probably should aim for a little bit more variety in my "collection" before coming back. :P

Slick!!! I assume from the pictures that you went with PCB mount instead of plate mount? I'm more of a plate mount person myself, but I suppose going PCB-mount stays truer to the original 1800 vision. Is the Cherry logo an original feature of the case or did you achieve that using a sticker?

I know it's not a G80-1800, but there isn't a thread for Dolch boards :)
So i spent a lot of this week cleaning up this bad boy. Half a tub of cotton buds and a pack of baby wipes later and here we are.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/ozIEqI6.jpg)
I bought it early last year with the intention of cleaning it up and never got round to it. It did originally have a rubberised coating on it (which you can see at the top on the ridged section) but it had gone sticky so i decided to wipe it off.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/64DMs1F.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/KsAUxix.jpg)
Dat controller tho. (Yes I know my desk is messy.
I hadn't tested it at all until about 20 minutes ago, and it works perfectly :D This one has a removable PS2 to DIN cable instead of an RJ11 cable like some boards. Luckily I had a DIN connector from when I bought my 1900HAD a while back, so I could use this to test it.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/ghpDLdU.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/xp3qwWe.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/znok661.jpg)
I have also used acrylic polish to remove some of the scratches caused by getting the coating off which actually works really well. Yeah it's shiny, but I think it looks ace. More to come with the accompanying project ;)
Nice work man! Looks like a great board to use now.

Thanks dude :D I hope to get a nice PS2 to USB cable soon so I can use it normally without having a huge DIN connector sticking out of the back of my PC :D

You will need to buy a standard 1800 keyboard and either swap the switches or the stems. I don't recall ever seeing G80-1800 keyboard with anything other than mx Black (with the exception of Skidata which had mx clear) (11800 and 11900 were made with MX brown, but they're not true 1800 layout and the keycaps are not totally compatible due to the 2u right shift.

Duuuuuuude, how did you get an ISO one? The one that came with my PAC is ANSI :(

I still need one of those with a plate. I've got a mint G81-1800 case with UK doubleshots that needs to be used.Convert it to what?

My first vintage Cherry!
Cherry G80-1800HFU with vintage Blues. Feels great and in pretty decent shape. Just ordered some adapters to hook this thing up, and am going to give the keycaps & housing a cleaning!
First thing I did was plop some CMYK on this bad boy, looks great! Excuse the potato, was excited when it came in. :p
I have a dolch pac case + leeku pcb that I still need to build. I finally got to see and touch a G80 1800 at the Portland Meetup a few months ago. I see that the G80 1800 is still actually available new. Is there some reason why the older ones are preferred over these new ones? Is it the keycap quality? It depends on what you're looking for. I thought the keycaps felt good compared to other stock keycaps, but they are etched or lasered. You notice the patterns slightly under your fingers. If you're looking for a vintage look, they don't have it. They're grey, not warm. I do think that color looks good on the case, but you can probably find a cheaper deal on an old G80-1800 case if you're planning to switch out the PCB. Typing on a stock, PCB mounted G80-1800 feels terrible. There's so much flex.
I figured the keycaps would be lasered. I watched a Linus Tech Tips video in which they showed some machine just engraving all the keycaps while already on the board.
I'd ideally love to find an old G80 18XX, but I actually have never seen one on eBay haha. I've seen plenty MY versions though. I'll see if I can finish the Dolch this weekend and I'll be able to post a photo up here.

Close enough.
Damn, that looks nice. How's the Gateron Yellows? Have you had experience with MX/Gat Blacks?I really like them. They feel a bit like lubed switches, without the mushiness. I have tried MX Red, MX Black and Gateron Yellow. I prefer the yellows, but only by a small margin over MX Red. I think it's a much bigger deal if the stabilizers are mushy or rattly.

So I just got the Din5-to-PS2 and PS2-to-USB adapters, and gave the 1800 a cleaning, and it works great!
"PgDn" and "Scroll Lock" seem to have some loose solder joints (they don't register 100% of the time), so I'll remedy that.
I need to adjust to the overall layout, but I love having the numpad in a compact footprint!Show Image(https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4168/34545208741_2a64ed6423_b.jpg)

Yea, though for the actual part number G80-1800, I think this only has MX blacks. Different switches usually have part number variations,
1804 - clears (or blacks)
1813 HF* - blues
1824 - clears
1838 - browns (vintage)
1854 HAF - blacks
The ones with winkeys come in several different switch types, e.g. 1865/1890 - blues, browns, or reds depending on the product code
HUMUS-2 also had MX Blacks...but with the WnV edition the real showstopper is the original Cherry Corp red Esc key (that once sold for $250 here on geekhack and is ripster's favorite story about keycap appreciation) and the WnV keys.I remember that one. That was a Chinese market limited edition with its own special carrying case wasn't it?Show Image(http://2e.zol-img.com.cn/product/36/550/ceGho52mcaY.jpg)

Sometimes the seller would kept the board itself and GID / accessories get sold then I snatched them.

**** man, you killed it. No need to post anything else guys, it's over.
The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is an international system that uses terrestrial and satellite technology and ship-board radio systems to ensure rapid, automated alerting of shore-based communication and rescue authorities, in addition to ships in the immediate vicinity, in the event of a marine distress. Under the GMDSS, all cargo ships of 300 gross registered tonnes and upwards and all passenger ships engaged on international voyages must be equipped with radio equipment that conforms to international standards as set out in the system. The basic concept is that search and rescue authorities ashore, as well as shipping in the immediate vicinity of the ship in distress, will be rapidly alerted through satellite and terrestrial communication techniques so that they can assist in a co-ordinated search and rescue operation with the minimum of delay.

I've been trying to get this guy converted without any luck. Planning on getting a Leeku PCB to get it up and running and use it as my new work daily.

They definitely need to be lubricated and I have switched spring to 72g Sprit. Quieter than usual, yes. They hiss a little but nothing that bother me.

Lubricated? So this means that not all silent switches are smooth...
Here is my Dolch PAC64 / Cherry G80-1813 Keyboard.
I got this Dolch Pac 64 from Ebay and it was missing a keycap, so I added a "bug" from the Signature Plastics DSA Alps/Matias "Granite" keyset giving a "theme" to the whole PC.
Being a "bug", the key is different from all the other keys, shape included.

Okay, this is AWESOME. Really nice work on that build, I think this is the first time I've seen someone smash a modern computer into a Dolch PAC. :thumb: Do you foresee yourself using the computer in a semi-mobile fashion? Would make a really great LAN party machine. :D
very cool, im sure that took some time.

Posted in the mail day thread too, but figured I'd share here. Found a NIB G80-1838HPU the other day. It was made in 1996 and has vintage MX browns and is one of the few boards to come with black on white double shots:

Looks great, is it a very bright white? or a bit of cream to it?

They are very close to the alpha color for Cherry beige double shots. Here is a picture comparing the two:

I believe the Compaq off-white doubleshot base is the exact same colour code used for the GMK Barebones Stormtrooper kit
is there g80-1800 and g80-3000 have same capslock ?! thanks
awesome find nafs_asp!
You can't cerekote plastics unless it can withstand 300c temps for multiple hours and even then you might have a tough time
And sorry to be that person, but is cerakote an option with plastics ;)

I am offering new slick and shiny dell keyboards in exchange for these bulky old fashioned ones :)I stumbled across this stack of Cherry G80 1800LPCEU-2 at work.
Did you tell them they're no good and you need them for a recycling project? I'll take one, please :p
@T0mb3ry
How did you add the back light to the second keyboard posted there ? Or did the keyboard come with it ?
Ohhh, a H2099! I love mine. This is one very rare 1800 that you have here, take a great care of it!
I dreamed about 1800 since I found HASRO and googled more about Cherry keyboards and their keycaps. And found - two months later. Data code is 1995. Black with a large logo, very similar to vintage. Smooth. The cap is almost mint! I'm afraid to use it and wipe it to shine. And a little sad - the seller said that there were several more, but they were sent to the scrap.Show Image(https://i.redd.it/904v56v0ly251.jpg)
