No sir, not one bit. Mainly because of the looks but also because of the price. $350 is too much for any shoe on initial sale.

I wanted to love the Gel Lyte V so much, but they are WAY too thin for my foot. The middle of the inside arch area is like the width of three of my fingers causing 1/2 of the inside of each foot to hang over the edge of the shoe causing a ton of pain. I don't understand that design decision at all, why didn't Asics just make it the width of the actual shoe instead of tucking it in like that?

Vans "off the wall"? I love these since forever (they're not strong enough for serious skating but for walking they're amazing). As for the winter, it's easy: just live like me in a place where there's 320 sunny days each year and where it hasn't snowed in something like 40 years : )
