What will be the layout options for the PCB?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't bother asking this here as Streamline has already stated he is abandoning the Geekhack thread.

It's just another in a long line of red flags that he read through the whole thread and didn't really provide responses to any major concerns people had. Asking in the discord is probably your best shot. In fact the only way to even see the proof of weights that supposedly were similar to the Helheim design are to go through his Discord but that involves digging through conversations like the most recent that were shown to me in screenshots including members talking about if open borders is just letting in gangs and crimes into our cities and how gluttony is actually responsible for people's health issues and not a matter of their socio economic status. It's not a matter of thinking these conversations are inappropriate for a public facing discord of a designer / vendor, it's that I don't think the people in there are capable of being nuanced enough to discuss these issues and that's the dangerous part.

TMK Keyboard Service / Re: [TMK] Keyboard Protocol Converter
« Last post by ermilokss on Sat, 11 May 2024, 11:05:53 »
Hello. I soldered adb-usb converter based on Arduino Pro Micro for Apple Extended Keyboard II.  Works good, its what i wanted to say, but keyboard randomly stop to respond while gaming. Num pad light is shiny which means keyboard is powered, but no button reacts to press. Tried with 1kOhm resistor and 2 parallel 1kOhm (500 Ohm), keyboard behaviour dont change. To fix this behaviour need to unplug-plug keyboard and its works until next random stop. Which solution for my situation can be?

New Members / Need a buying suggestion
« Last post by teeger on Sat, 11 May 2024, 08:39:23 »
I need a wireless keypad that I can use for game room gaming of strictly isometric (top down rpg games like divinity/pillars of eternity). All the rest, I play my fps or any form of shooter at the desk in my chair upright; and I play my story specific and action rpg games (witcher/ god of war) on an Xbox elite controller.

I need suggestions. The only real issue is, really the fact that there aren't many wireless options, and am worried about the signal from my room next door to the couch outside, about 30 ft away but with two walls of the bath in between  .

I can look into just getting a wired one and run a Bluetooth converter deal. I need one of those on the side anyway to ensure for anything on the go at university and my work as a consultant.

Off Topic / Re: Soft Rim is best !!

I've never really use these trackpads on laptops. Why do people use them and why do you think the soft rim one is the best, not sure how there would be a noticeable difference between them.

Keyboards / Re: Unpopular Keyboard Opinions

QWERTY should be discontinued.
Staggered should be discontinued.
All keyboards should be ortholinear. Or hexagonal. Or something.
Meh, I'd pass hard on that opinion. Don't get me wrong you are right from an ergonomic & speed perspective, but TBH ortho layouts just look so bland to me. Also QWERTY is way to ingrained in me to even want to change. Although I do not use my keyboards at work & do not need the best ergonomics or most efficient layout, so I can see why these are more sought after for people who have to type all day for work.

Yeah it definitely seems better for typing, but I'm just used to qwerty and staggered as well.

One ortho board that looks sick is the lumberjack 60 project, It's very visually appealing especially with the through hole components separating the two halfs. Would be a fun project to do too, even if it wouldn't get too much use
