I had an exciting and slightly unexpected delivery today and I must say the results are quite fantastic, I am as it turns out a pretty terrible product photographer, but I think this does a good job of representing the colours. Copper is an amazing element. I have long been a collector of coins and that is where the colour inspriration was derived from. Looking at Copper in more detail this set touches on Copper in a number of seemingly unrelated ways. The Biology of Copper, in the blood of spiders and the octopus. The chemistry of Copper in the element itself and past alchemist representations of Copper. And finally in history in likely one of the most famous examples in the world of Copper patina in the Statue of Liberty.

As a new KB "enthusiast," this is the first cap set that I've followed from conception to pre-order. I've got my order in for the base kit and novelties already, and am adding the rest of the things next payday. Love this design fatboycarney! I wish you every success is reaching your minimums and beyond! Fingers crossed for one of the limited cables, because they're gorgeous! Hoping to pair this up with a nice wooden keyboard, I think!

Thanks Assembly you are correct, I have since updated the OP and clarified, these are indeed copper that are then put through a process to Patina them. Salvun is amazing I recommend checking his metal manipulation skills on instagram! He shares quite a lot!

Oh and about the caps the Alchemy cap is being worked on and as soon as we have it I will get pics up and out to the vendors!!

Ok sorry for the wait but had to get some info, it is a 4 pin but it is not a Lemo which is a brand name connector, Josh calls this a push/pull connector.
It is not copper plated (but wow it looks it eh) It is meticulously painted by Mekanist, of Archetype fame. Hope that answers your questions.

I really love the kit and the whole idea behind it. I just personally have no board to put it on and difficulty to match any environment (home or office).
But GL with the GB, I am really looking forward to see the end results once people start to post their boards later on!

Hm I had an oxidized copper themed keyboard made a couple years ago -- this might be the perfect set for it!  Though mine might be a bit closer to bronze in tone vs. this set.

Oh wow  :eek: I think that board is pretty perfect, even if its not an exact match a bronze tone wouldnt be bad IMHO. I love the plate colour to which would look great underneath the caps. Of course I may have some bias in all this  :p

Yeah that was the idea.  I literally sent a photograph of an oxidized copper chunk to the manufacturer for reference :)  Matte cyan-teal plate and more shiny coppery case finish.  They've done a great job on the colors.  I've had difficulties finding a perfect set for it--GMK Mint Chocolate modifiers are an excellent pairing, but not the alphas.

I haven't been paying a lot of attention to the custom keyboard scene for the last few months, so I only just discovered this set from a Kono email yesterday. 
However, this set may end up being perfect for a board for which I was having trouble choosing a keycap set to compliment it.... so I'm now in!  :thumb:

Yeah well I love it and have even had people on discord mention your board and wanting to get one made..lol If you do decide to go in for the set make sure you share pictures I would love to see them!

I want to add that this cable is not for everyone based on the pricing, Josh was very concerned about the pricing and didnt want it to be as much as it is however the materials required, plus the length of time to make the cable (especially painting the push/pull connector is many steps) the price in the form is what we came up with.

Wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has joined in on the set so far, the progress we are making so far is right on track. We have essentially hit MOQ on novelties (really wanted it to be 100 but close enough) All the deskmats will be made. And we have nearly reached 200 Salvun caps sold. Amazing!  :eek:

Also there is more to come to go along with the set so stay tuned here, as I add all updates on Geekhack as we go along this journey!

I honestly do not think I could have chosen a better (for me, and worse for my wallet) set to mark the beginning of my involvement in this hobby. A month ago, I told myself I would never make a huge investment into artisans, but here I am with 3/4 available so far, on probably the coolest set I've seen in my year of browsing looking for the one to go in on.

Don't tell my GF I called GMK Copper "The One".

I was waaay late on GMK Carbon for my current ergodox, but I found the Carbon 'dox kit used, and was able to source some blank alphas to fill out the board that matched the colorway well enough. Without enough Copper 1.5u & 2u keys, even that approach isn't really an option here :(

So bummed I won't be able to cover the Infinity ErgoDox build I'm putting together, but really incredible work! I *love* the colorway, and the artisans are just *chef's kiss*.

Also, as much as I told myself not to join this group buy, I had to pull the trigger today. I have more keycap sets than boards already, and I'm also waiting on Olivia++ and Phosphorous! But those Salvun artisans... oh man.  I do not like artisan keycaps, but those things hit the spot. I used to collect minerals as a kid, and a big hunk of half polished copper was always my favorite. Now I just need to find another board to match this set.

Just wanted to post that Alpha Keycaps, Watcher, Ultimate Cable and Kopper Kolkrabba have all been raffled and we are just confirming the order numbers now. Since it was the weekend we wont have them confirmed until likely earliest tomorrow. There are a lot of orders to check so we appreciate your patience!!

And to comment on the numbers, thanks dvorcol for posting. I cant say how happy I am and wont put to much here as they are not yet complete. Once final numbers are up I will post some further thoughts

Just posting a little end of GB message, I have so many people that helped to make this happen and I cant convey how much I appreciate all they did and gave to the set, the theme, the experience. I think (hope) I have thanked everyone personally so wont go on about it here. I will say that I never expected this result. Across the board. The base kit hitting over 500, novelties over 300, and the Salvun caps, 490 total! insane to me. I know this set was not for everyone and thats cool but those who like it are very passionate and so supportive. So the biggest thanks goes to all those who supported the set, thank you!!

Colour samples are in from GMK, arrived today and must say extremely happy with them. Going to have another look tomorrow in midday light but really leaning towards approving these, they look great, colour samples very well and acheive the vision that I had for the set almost better than I could have hoped. 

Let me know what you think and also jump in to the discord and chat Copper and maybe another set. or just visit with some nice people

Sorry folks for the crickets in here, hasnt been a lot to update with and a lot of conversation has been happening in the discord which is the best place for more frequent discussion

Unfortunately I havent posted since I havent had much to update, colours were confirmed and I was extremely happy with them, I keep looking at the samples and it makes me more and more excited, will try and post a pic today to get the excitement going again.

That said I dont have a date other than it should be one of the next sets to come, we are right there around sets that have shipped so the best I can say is anytime now, fingers crossed before Christmas. Wish I had a better update

I can confirm that. Both those vendors wait for the keysets to come in and for all orders to be fulfilled before selling extras. As far as the other vendors go, I think they keep a couple of sets, at least, in case there are issues with during order fulfilment.

The set should be one of the next sets coming out and Kono is going to chase GMK for an update. I know some sets that ran after Copper have delivered or are starting to ship and this can be frustrating. I apologize for the delay, and appreciate everyone's patience. Ok a much better post this time than the last one.

I have received an update from Kono that GMK has informed them they are expecting to ship Copper in the 2nd week of February. Of course this update is approximate but its the first update I have received and have been able to share so I am ecstatic. Of course shipping timing from vendors will vary after they receive the kit but its fantastic news.

I wanted to thank all the GB supporters for all the support of the set, and tremendous patience as we have waited for the set to come to us, we are in the home stretch now, and I cannot wait to see everyone's setups once they get the set!!
