I kept seeing these photos on geekhack of the black HHKB with white printed keys and i loved the look, especially because its impossible to see the characters on the black keys at night. i got them in today and i am happy with my "investment".

Im gonna get in trouble with my wife if she finds out how much these were.  :))

As mentioned before, I already have a BroBot so I don't care about getting another one (in fact I'm giving the one I have away to someone who wants it), but being called a cheater, then saying someone else was correct 'first' after editing their post well after my correct guess, just irks my nerves. If you didn't want to let me win, just say that, don't call me a cheater...

Whoa, how about you should calm down first, and read back a little bit? Anyways, I wasn't being serious. But go for it dude.

*edit: your correct 'guess' was a google search for a product number

That is a very nice yellow you have there :)

Congratulations!  I am almost, almost, tempted to get a Topre just for the yellow.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Be wary though! They look much lighter in the potato pic. Hopefully I can get more colour accurate photos soon. I would say they are a much more mellow yellow. I'll try to remember tomorrow, to compare to every yellow cap I have.

Is it a risk to do that? I'm getting my wyse set soon, and the numpad is yellowed, wondering if I could oxi clean as well, will it take off the letters as well?

Oxi clean takes off nothing.  It just cleans.  I've used it on beige and black caps.  To really remove yellow, you need peroxide, which CAN bleach out the legends.
