The Maja
MAJA is an ergo layout keyboard design by Vulcan and KBDfans. Maja is named after Majapahit, a great empire that once rules southeast Asia. The glorious emblem of Majapahit called the Surya of Majapahit is beautifully engraved on the brass weight.

How it's Made
The Maja is made with a highly precision CNC machine from a block of high-quality aluminum and a block of brass for the weight, it is then sandblasted and anodized to give a textured smooth finish to the surface with the desired color offered.

The Maja also comes with a polycarbonate version of the case. Polycarbonate is known for a very strong and durable material.

The Features
Maja features an ergonomic layout with an 8-degree keyboard angle to give a more comfortable typing experience. The top-mounted case system combined with a brass material as the plate will give you a rigged, firm, and consistent acoustic sound when typing.

The PCB
To provide the best end-user experience available The Maja offers a soldered version of PCB with layout option and a hot-swap PCB with a full per-key RGB light with no switch soldering require to assemble the keyboard.

The Layout (For Soldered version PCB)

Very much interested. Filled the form!

My only suggestion was to have the edges curve down towards the front instead of the hard angle you currently have. The rest of the board is curvy so I think that would suit the design more.

Couple suggestions:
Split Backspace support
Moving the right 3-key cluster a bit more right to accommodate a forth key below that fits in the space next to the up arrow key

Beautiful board, I will be stalking its progress  ;D

As a 65%/75% split user, I'm very interested in this!  As it is now, I'm likely to pick up 2 of these.  My one suggestion is to somehow add one more key to the upper-left area, so I don't have remap ESC/` key to Capslock.

Alps support, at least on the pcb, would be great.  Alps plates would be icing on the cake, but I see there are many issues with plates that make a universal one impossible...

Split backspace?

The tilt negates any ergonomic gains from the keys being angled.

Make the case tilt the other way and I'd be interested.

I'm an ISO guy, but for once I do not agree with people wanting ISO on this; it just wouldn't look good imho because of the case design (that sort of step cutout for each row).

I, however, agree with ODIN's comment, I would like one more key on the right bottom row.

I'll probably get one anyway, missed the Alice and that is going for way too much right now. Do you have a price estimate on this? even something really vague would do :)

I'd argue that 1u key is pretty hard to use.  I'd prefer 1.5u even if the blocker is small.  My 2 cents.

I agree that the newly added 1u key is too small and would likely be of no use, to me anyways. But I also would dislike how small the blocker would become if the 1u key was made bigger. I say stick with the original layout you had in mind, Vulcan.

Any chance for a negative angle instead of a positive one? The reason I usually avoid ergos like this is because they are not really ergonomic - you still are forced to kink your hands upwards and pinch the nerves and tendons in your wrist. A negative angle would make this a much more attractive board, and not a budget Alice.

Another idea would be a split&tent with the ergo style intact, which would be pretty cool and solve the issue ergonomics.

BTW, just realized the bottom right row (N, M, , .) is shifted by one key.
That's no go for me...  :-[

[EDIT] maybe the layout is wrong?  it doesn't seem to agree with the plate in the rendering.

But isnt that the default layout for HHKB and other 60% keyboard? If the FN are in the left side of the shift wouldnt that be weird?

No, the layout is wrong. It should be;
FN - N - M - , - . - shift

Can totally undertand where OracleKev is coming from.

http://ergo.human.cornell.edu/ahtutorials/typingposture.html

ideally, you want your hands facing inwards and at a negative angle like this:
http://i.imgur.com/oXvfizT.jpg

Of course, I would seek to improve upon that by adding space in the middle so your arms would be at resting position as well, hence the idea for a split ergo board. The split allows rotational tilt via tenting (VEA for example) for further improved ergonomics.

Yeap.

FN N M , . / RShift

If it's not easy to understand, look at EM7 or Alice.
Strangely, the plate in the rendering looks right.

Yeah I agree with the previous guys.

If you look at a normal keyboard and at the TGR Alice, the N M , . / are shifted over to the right.
Vulcan your keymap shows them shifted to the left one column.

If you swapped the Shift and FN key then it we could have the row look like FN - N - M - , - . - Shift.
This should be the correct layout for a normal keyboard and for layouts similar to the TGR Alice.

The TGR Alice has an extra key on that row but the arrow keys in the Majapahit take up the space for that FN to the right of the shift.

I'd personally be very interested in an LZ Ergo type layout as I think that is incredibly functional and looks great too (granted that this isn't going to have an F-row / the entire right cluster).

I also agree on having the 'b' key exist on both sides and the "nm" row needs to be shifted to the right such that the 'n' falls below/between 'h' and 'j'.
I also don't think the right shift needs to be split.
