Newbie looking for help with dimensions for laser cutting plate.
« on: Sun, 11 November 2018, 05:50:54 »
Hey guys!

So my plan is to get a DZ60 V2 USB-C (or GK64) to build a gundam themed "gaming" keyboard on a 5 Degree case.

The GK64 has a nasty plate (non-standard screw holes) so that's when I started looking at making custom plates, also looking at my old DZ60 plate I realized it had too many empty spots to accommodate the different layouts.

So I've found a website for laser cutting in 3mm acrylic, I have a trial on BricsCAD, I have used Swillkb's site to build what I need.

What I need help with is dimensions and some other stuff.

First, should I cut off the red areas? Or would they be fine? I get the feeling at least the marked area to the right would be a bit fragile.

Then, how "snug" can I make the plate to fit in the 5 Degree (I know I should round of the corners of the plate)?
Does anyone know the exact dimensions for the 5 Degree?

Cause I haven't found exact dimensions but according to my measurements its 2865x960, the plate I've drawn is 2854x949.

Is half a mm enough?

Thanks in advance for any tips!
