I think this might be the ultimate manliness a keyboard could hope to achieve.

I want to buy this, too.

This reminds me of a night of rogering someone and watching half a kilo of Froot Loops coming out of them.  What gives with you youngsters wanting such ghastly bright colours?

I completely understand what you mean by this, but every time I look at it I just read

"topre juiced"

as if it's some sort of super-charged topre keyboard.

Just putting this out there since some people are putting SP level prices as the most they'd pay, $65-80 isn't really a reasonable expectation for a full GMK set.  Expect a full set to be in the $100-130 range.  I wish it could be cheaper, but GMK is more expensive than SP.  That said, the quality of the caps is much higher and you get nice, thick caps that are the same level of quality as original Cherry caps.

If people are willing to forgo GMK quality and go SP and novelties, that is an option, but I'm keeping fingers crossed for GMK level of interest.
I'm all for GMK  :))

Still waiting on some help with better mockups.  Hopefully they'll be done soon.

The numbers still aren't there yet, but they're slowly creeping up.

Are there any changes people would like to see to make it more palatable?

HANDARBEIT.......enough said already, why creep around producing really bad versions of it when you could simply choose the original style and watch the numbers pile in, especially when it goes to GMK for manufacture  :thumb: .

I know you think you want to do something "UNIQUE" but we here at Geekhack still idolize what was done earlier by our ancient Cherry Forefathers. Stick with what's best go with the Handarbeit, you know you want to........  8)

No Elrick.  As I said before, if you want Handerbeit, go run it yourself.  Personally, I think Handerbeit looks like crap, hebce why I have no interest in it.  I asked how to help with MOQ, not choose something totally different.  At this point you're just trolling.

Not a big fan of Handerbeit, either, tbh.

Not sure what to do to make this set more appealing to others, though.  Honestly, as much as I like this, it's just one of those hit and miss sets.  If we change it too much then it's probably going to lose what appeals to us now. /shrug

Handarbeit actually works surprisingly well.  I constructed Rowdybeit out of a collection of random keycaps that was surprisingly accurate to the original.  It was more useable and less distracting than I suspected it might have been.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Swapping the cyan and magenta keys might help?  I know that then becomes cyan mods which is similar to the set Feng is running an IC for, also.  That might make it more appealing to a broader range, though.  Everyone seems to love cyan.

Or having cyan mods, magenta spacebar and caps, and green backspace, arrow keys, etc.  Even though it's just switching the colors around, it might "tame" the set down a bit.  Just throwing out ideas.

Swapping "normal" colors in for the green and then making the green part of the just buy it already pack instead could help.  The same with the WASD cluster and cyan mods.  I might go that route.  It loses some of the fun in doing so, but it might make it more appealing to a wider swath of people.

If I swap magenta to cyan, it loses something to me.  I'll try some mock ups later, but in my mind, I'm not sure how I'll like it.

Well, 50 interested people doesn't translate to 50 orders, but you know that...

I guess the only way to make such a set work with GMK is doing seperate sets like starting with a complete pink modifier set first. This might attract orders from people who want to combine it with their vintage Cherry sets. Next GB is fullsize purple keys and so on and so on.

But even then, it seems unreachable with GMK...

Well, it's still in the formative stages without a post on DT yet, so don't talk like it's an impossible dream.  I'm still going to work on it and refine it and see if there's a way to make it happen easier.  If this doesn't work out, there is on of my typewriter sets that would work with GMK that I can play with, but it won't be as fun of a set.

The only thing I think is missing is the purple spacebar. If I wanted to say, swap the mods out for the GMK purple mods that Ivan did for the most purple GMK capped 60% ever, the only thing missing would by that elusive purple spacebar!
