Turtle Beach Impact 500 & 700 Cherry MX TKL keyboards

Impact 500 (no backlight, mx blue): http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/pc-gamer-accessories/turtle-beach-impact-500-mechanical-gaming-keyboard/631

Impact 700 (backlight, mx brown): http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/pc-gamer-accessories/turtle-beach-impact-700-mechanical-gaming-keyboard/633

Good to see companies not selling out to kailh and making spaceship looking keyboards. They are $139.99 and $199.99 but that isn't a big deal if you are getting KUL or Filco quality. The 700 also comes with some keycaps and a wire keycap puller.

The boards look like costar oems, not sure how the price tags are justified.

I think they're overpriced too but keep in mind TB is a gaming company and they're also just entering the market.

That first one looks like a rebranded Majestouch 2. Probably lower quality though.

Also, the first link already doesn't work and just directs to headphones.

Not bad but pretty generic looking overall. At least all the keys look standard. I would be curious to see shots of the PCB to see if its high-quality like a Filco or if its just another cheap-o like the Cooler Master boards.

These actually looked somewhat reasonable for a gaming company like Turtle Beach. Then I saw the price tag. At $199, these better raise my K/D at least half a point

So what we have here are more expensive clones of a QFR and a Max Nighthawk with a somewhat fancy key puller. Pass.

I think Majestouch clones not QFR Clones. Look at the LEDs.

Just costar reference designs and they slapped a logo on it, nothing special. Fullsize is based same thing as Mionix Zibal, Tt Meka G1, Ozone Strike (old version), WASD (old version), etc. The tenkeyless appears to have more in common with the Filco MJ design, whether any cost cutting employed internally... who knows?
Definitely nothing in common with Max Nighthawk, which is an iOne reference design based model.

The Impact 500 doesn't seem too bad of a keyboard, just wish it came in other switch combinations. The 700 is just too expensive for what it is. Nice to see Turtle Beach entering the market with Cherry MX keyswitches in their mechanical keyboards.

Madcatz thought they could charge $150 for their backlit kailh keyboard (first mech) but they realized they couldn't so now its going for $78 on amazon lol.

Maybe TB would lower their keyboard too.

some pics i stole from reddit: http://imgur.com/a/4nwAT

the price is only $100 instead of $140 at some places/countries, so I think it's worth trying out. Ticks all the boxes, could be just as good as Filcos.

Its still seems like a QFR at 80 would be a better call.

The 500 dropped down to £32 on UK Amazon the other day, back up to £50 now though. Nice little add to the collection, thing is solid.

I could try opening it up and taking some pictures if it would interest anyone?

Damn looks exactly like a Filco MJ2. Literally everything but the branding and the stickers look the same.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure it's a perfectly fine board. If you shopped out and didn't mention the brand, everyone would probably assume you had a nice Filco for $140.
