[GB] GMK Iceberg | GB Closed
« on: Sun, 14 February 2021, 10:58:30 »

GMK Iceberg is a set inspired by the reflection of exactly that… An Iceberg. The cooling colors are meant to represent the icy-cold nature of a giant berg of ice.

This is the only kit that is not double-shot, due to GMK not being able to make it in double-shot, it will be UV-printed.
I've tried my absolute best to make it doable but failed to make it fit GMK requirements.

Alt alphas kits get canceled sometime even when they dont have a pile of new molds adding to the cost. If you want the Inuktitut...buy early.

Edit:
Or be like Derbs. For posterity:

Dunno. That’s a good question. Im guessing 100 or 150. Dvorcol will tell us. Pricing is atrocious below that, 250 is hard for alt alpha kits for sets that aren’t monsters...which maybe this one is! Base kit is cheap for custom colors and size and recent GMK increases

I believe it does contain both 2u shift and 6.25u, the latter is always included in any GMK base kit as far as I know.

Ladies and Gentlemen, all I'm asking is for you to look deep into your hearts, and into your pocketbooks, and buy Inuktitut.

Think of your family, your community, your housepets, and of all the future generations who will benefit from having proper characters to describe ice shelters, whaling harpoons, clouds of summer flies on the breezy tundra, warm chonky arctic boots, calving glaciers, endless peaceful nights under the majestic auroras, and that kind of loud scrunchy snow sound you get underfoot when it's below -15C outside.  Think of the children!  Think of the polar bears!  End global warming!  Buy Inuktitut today!

Same.
Looking it over though, these are some interesting numbers.
Neither the 40's nor the Inuktitut have even reached a 10% attachment rate which is unfortunate and doesn't bode well for them even if overall numbers were doubled.
It's really too bad because if you bought all in with base+alt alphas+40's you could potentially get 2 full boards of coverage depending on layouts. Adding Novelties practically guarantees it unless you're some degen running an entire board full of 1.25u keys.

I'm just wondering how much of a price difference would it be if the Inuktitut kit had come as a full base kit? I can't bring myself to buy the base kit + Inuktitut knowing that the regular alphas will just sit unused.

There's really no way to know because it wasn't quoted but I'm gonna ballpark it at around $165 based on absolutely nothing at all.

It's natrually not unexpected as Inuktitut is not a double-shot kit. UV-printing is not something GMK normally do, people can be cautious.
Well, based on GMK's performance over the years, it's almost 100% sure GMK will get the job done very well!
But it's hard to connect with the future of children, and definitely not global warming, to be honest. It's encouraged from a pure culture point of view.

Edit: I have put down Inuktitut.

GMK Lunar might be a comparison. Lotta new molds, more than Inuktitut, but stock colors, 160 base. Sets are a little more now than then. I think your guess is good.

If you can’t flip the Latin alphas for 75 shipped on mm I’ll be kinda surprised...

Came to this thread to make a similar plea for the Inuktitut alphas. After all, it seems we are literally dozens...  :D
What is the chance it gets bought out by the vendor at 60/70% of MOQ? Otherwise let us all pitch in an buy a second kit - problem solved. It would be a shame if these alphas were not being made. They are a big part of the identity of the set for me. And I am a sucker for "exotic" sublegends...

But why? You can always get a refund if a kit doesn't make it right? I would refund the 3 basekits I ordered if International doesn't hit MOQ, since the Basekits are useless to me without the additional kit.

Pushing back on this a bit - it's very rare in early 2021 to see Forties attach at 10%. That is an attach rate appropriate for Serika or Dots, not R1 of a pretty set. When I was researching Birch 40s kitting, 6-7% seemed standard for R1 of a GMK set.
