Is this some sort of Bitcoin-mining build? At first, I thought "So many GPUs" but it looks like the ribbon cables only attach them at like x1 or x4 width.

Caselabs? Geez, more expensive that Lian Li's! But I bet the options and customizations you can do to that case is endless. All these builds make my build look empty and dry. Maybe I'll post it after I get it sleeved, wet, and added a few more big blocks of GPU goodness.
Or I'll just post the computer my roommate and I have been building for him. its much easier on the eyes. :p

Ya it's pricy but you are right about the customization. It's completely modular and only limited by how crazy you want to get. I'll pretty much never need another case ever again. An added bonus is if I get kicked out for spending too much money on toys then I can probably live in the case temporarily. It's huge!
Those aren't in an SLI/ Crossfire? O.o
Edit: Didn't see the bridge in the first picture. What is the other set of pins for? (I don't follow GPU Cards)

Can anyone reccomend a mid tower case with a lot of room to run cabling BEHIND the mobo? I currently have a CM HAF 922 and would say the head room for cabling is average at best.I have a Corsair 600T that does a pretty nice job of hiding the cables. Overall a pretty nice case.
The Antec P280, and likely it's cousin, the Eleven Hundred, have more space than most. They scrape the small end of full tower though.

Well I refuse to use noisy internal mechanical drives and I keep all of my static data on a server/nas setup. It's only running at 4.2 (undervolted 3570K), temps are great, and none of the wires are blocking airflow. Then again, it really wouldn't matter if there were a few in the way due to positive pressure. The third photo is from the board I was using before the Asrock (Asus P8H67-I Deluxe), but you get the idea.
I like this thread already, i apologise in advance for the quality of my photos:

They really need to make 2.5" specific OEM drive bays for towers now. Those SSDs look so lonely in there.
A lot of cases do come with little racks for them now. Here's the CM HAF 922, you can see it at the bottom there.

That is definitely very convenient to have it mounted on the pci slots of the case. If you mod the mounts you could probably make it work but if you have quad cards, I don't know how its gonna look. D:
I'm trying to find a way to mount it on the back where the cable management. Keeps them out of sight, unless you wanna show them off of course. The Intel ones I have don't really look too good though. If I had a Corsair, I'd put that upfront and center. :p

Another spot is the backside of the drive bays and still another method I used to use was put the drives into the drive tray backwards so the cords came in from behind and/or against the front wall.

Quite a lot actually, It boosted my FPS substantially with Physx on High in Borderlands 2, Arkham City and Arkham Asylum. Around 20FPS to min and 10FPS to max. Without the Physx card in 3D I was getting drops to 10FPS now it stays stable above 30. A second 680 would have also solved this problem, but at a much higher cost, which for me wasn't worth it as I would rather wait or the GTX 790 slated to be released this year.ahh those are all physx games ive sen people get non physx games and still dedicated the card which wont do well anything im looking at this guy for my next build http://tinyurl.com/b5t4bwf
Mmm nice looking card, but I would definitely wait for the GK110 7xx series. Will be much better for gaming at hopefully a better price. I really can't say though until this and those cards are out.7XX are just a die shrink of current series chips and that one is the biggest daddy of them all.

That thing is a beast and a back breaker(!), any idea on what it weighs?
My last big watercooled cube was 120 pounds wet (thankfully it had wheels and someone I could bribe to help move it). Biog systems look great, but I much prefer my little ITX and MATX boxes when it comes time to move them.
Holy sweet mother of Glod...
i mean its nice playing bf3 all settings up on 60fps :) in fact any game i own gets at least 60fps (or locked at 60fps) but right now there is nothing i do right now that needs this much power, i may do some video editing some day but gaming really only thing.
The thing is though that i built this to last, about 5 years ago i built a system with a Q6600, raid 0 array, and cards in crossfire and such, it was expensive then but that system lasted me 5 years (i did upgrade graphics cards though), and if i really needed it to it could have lasted another few months though games had to be on low to medium sometimes. I'm hoping this system will for the most part last me years; i can see myself getting new graphics cards in 1.5-2 years but overall i'm crossing my fingers for over 3 years this will last. we shall see...
also i did it out of just really wanting to build it, i saved up most of the money for it, i feel i am happier now that its built.
Please tell me that you at least have an eyefinity setup with that system
Glod, that rig definitely deserves some bragging rights.
But why do you need that array if it's just for gaming? Quadfire for gaming is just hilarious. It's really just for benching, or if you use them as independent GPU's for distrubuted computing projects or hardware accelerated stuff.
meep

I'm really fond of the 800D. Its cable management is perfect, it looks great, and it actually does a great job of air cooling despite what a lot of people say.
I would have huge issues using your rig on a daily basis. I have no idea how expensive energy is in usa but we pay 0,25 euros per kw.Intel processors and Radeon GPU's are more efficient than the alternatives and as mentioned, they power down when not in use (another place Intel really shines).
Ugh, my desktop eats only about 50 W in idle (which is almost always, because I use it mostly to read stuff in web browser).Yeah, but is that with speakers and monitor or just the tower?
Your pc is tiny glod. I bet it doesn't get 60fps at crysis 3.
(jokes!)
Your pc is tiny glod. I bet it doesn't get 60fps at crysis 3.Fairly certain Crysis 1 at max settings will require more power than Crysis 3. If going by the series is any indication; the first one was more of a tech-demo/simulator and the second was more of a game. I think they will continue that formula with the third one as well, no matter how much toad tessellation they can fit in there.
(jokes!)
Ugh, my desktop eats only about 50 W in idle (which is almost always, because I use it mostly to read stuff in web browser).Yeah, but is that with speakers and monitor or just the tower?
My two monitors use 40 watts alone, plus I have 5.1 surround, and 2 usb hubs connected.
My tower by itself is closer to 70 when just browsing.
On the other hand, I also don't have a TV, game system, or stereo running or even paid for, nor do I pay for cable tv.
You have to take everything into consideration.
Even then, how much cheaper is it really? Rough cost estimate (works for most in the US)...
It's less than 50 W in idle with LCDs turned off, but PC+LCDs+router are still under 100 W.I would be interesting in seeing what your system has in it if it's only using 50 watts at idle, supports dual monitors and is capable of serious gaming.

(Made this with SLIing 570s in mind, not planning on that anymore though)
Depends on the cards and what games you're going to be playing. I've got two 560ti 448s, and in most new games they get ridiculously high scaling (like 85-95%) and allow me to completely max out BF3 despite the fact they were very cheap.(Made this with SLIing 570s in mind, not planning on that anymore though)
SLI was the biggest waste of money in my last rig

Raspberry pi? Where's you get that setup, out of curiosity. Been thinking about wiring one up to my car and getting an LTE connection.yup raspberry pi rev b and ninja pibow case.
It's not so much the cards I was using (2x 560ti OC), as much as it was that I don't regularly play any games that support it. I mainly play older games like WoW or games that don't need a lot of graphic muscle. I mainly went SLI because I never had before and wanted to try it out. But I wish I had bought a single 570 or 580 instead.Gimmie the old GPU? I need one for folding. :D (shoot me a PM if you're looking to sell)

getting tired of custom WC are you?
I hate the constant maintenance and the greed to keep upgrading

yeah exactly. i don't have the time i used to. I would drain, clean and re bleed the lines at least once a year. i may go back to a custom WC setup eventually but i will never do a dual loop ever again. They are a huge pain in the ass.
my H100i is holding up quite well. 3770k is running at 4.7 ghz and under full load it doesnt go past 75 degrees.
EDIT:
Jokrick - i didn't even see your setup up there. that thing is clean as hell too. i have to try a white case one of these days. they look so nice.
I still want a custom loop though
but not so extreme, maybe just cooling a cpu and a single card with 360+240 rad in a mid tower case
man Im in love with sm8-x caselabs

that is overkill for a cpu and one gpu.
I have a 2x gtx580's on one 360 and a 2600k on a 240
cpu = loop 1 and gpu's = loop 2

That's a nice clean build! Is that opening above the CPU fan a slot for an optical drive? Couldn't tell from the front of the case if the upper section is a door for a DVD drive.
That is a nice little builds
Thanks! I think I like the small form factor so much that all my builds from now on will probably be the same. I was able to fit the cpu and all the cables along with my mouse and keyboard into a duffle bag to transport, very convenient!
Provided you can keep the rig cool, I like the smaller cases too. Both of my last two purchases have been smaller cases.

I was worried about that too so I replaced the stock front fan that it came with and added another case fan inside with scythe typhoons. My temps usually read around 40 C for the cpu and 30 C for the motherboard. Which...isn't bad I guess? I really don't know what temps are considered good.

I dont blame him, floppies are quite useless nowadays! Especially with a new gaming rig!
Floppies and foam are a step up from the empty toilet paper rolls I was using previously. :-[
I could do with one of those for my 7970 Matrix Platinum but I'm in the UK.

How do you guys deal with such huge cases? My HAF932 became an eyesore (well, on top of the fact that **** is hideous to being with.. no disrespect to fellow haf owners) and took up too much space on my desk. I'm definitely going mATX on my next build.I have no clue, my first case was the silverstone sugo sg05, and my second case is a fractal design node 304.
see, that's what i want. something small. SaySo's case is pretty nice too. 14" isn't too bad.
Yes small case (but large). The cons : it is very expensive with options :-\

what do you think about the sx600? i'm thinking of replacing the bottom mount hadron 1u psu with that unit mounted where the drive bay used to be

i have a couple works in progress right now. i put most of this thing together last night (still in test-fit mode). the hadron OE power supply is really nice small custom unit, but silverstone just came out with their 600W SFX gold supply, that would fit in the upper right corner. still debating power on this one.

the idea was to make something small enough to put in a duffel and in carry-on luggage.

Silverstone SX600-G PSU

The Bottom Line
The SilverStone SX600-G is the second SFX form-factor power supply we have seen to date and it happens to also be the second SFX power supply we have seen from SilverStone. Given that this unit is somewhat of an evolution of the precious ST45SF-G, we had high expectations for this unit. These expectations were met in some aspects but then not in others. On the plus side, this unit had very good voltage regulation, met its 80 Plus rating as well as posted excellent efficiency values throughout testing, and posted DC output quality that was better than the previous ST45SF-G due to the loads today being greater. On the negative side, the build quality was excellent but the component selection suffered, the Transient Load Test results were passing but suffered relative to the ST45SF-G, and the noise output wasn't any better than with the ST45SF-G. So, much like the ST45SF-G, this is certainly not going to be an absolute barnstormer of a general 600W unit but it is completely passing with some improvements over the ST45SF-G and has to be viewed through a form-factor constraint set of lenses.
The good news here for SilverStone is that while this unit is not a barnstormer, most users looking for a product like this are going to be savvy enough to be able to understand their exact needs and what compromises they are going to have to make for such a small form-factor. They also are going to be savvy enough to understand that this currently represents a simply massive amount of power in the small SFX form-factor. That power comes at a price though, as we look today we see this unit selling for $139.99 currently which is a hefty premium for a 600W unit and it also represents a significant premium over the ST45SF-G. Then again, if you want a fully modular 600W SFX power supply that can survive a beating as this unit has today, there really aren't two ways about it; this is your unit. all caveats included as with the last unit!

Rockin 4770k at 4.4@1.3V, 2GHz 16GB Dominator GT's (stock), i think stock 780, 840 pro 256GB, ForceGT 180GB and Barracuda 2TB. Loving it very much, but soon im going to go mad becasue the case is unnecessarily big. Wish they imported the H440 or the Fractal R4 here :/
It seriously only needs to be smaller, a white LED strip im going to mod to sata when i get connectors, and i have another 780 cooler to be painted black to match the interior. I love the cables, so no sleeving for a while unless i make it big, other than the front USB/audio because fugly. Also the case needs some work done (some imperfections on left panel, top panel has a huge dent etc), but keyboards are taking my moneh!

My rig that I named Atlas. It's had a lot of change over the past year and half but this is its current state. I also included one picture pre-watercooling.
In the future I plan on down sizing. I already bought a NCASE M1 in silver.

Will definitely....i would've liked a full cover for my msi 290 but apparently mine is the newer pcb revision with the gole ssc chokes etc so the full cover ek 2.0 wont fit without modding, of which i neither have the tools or skill for.so i went with the thermosphere and copper heatsinks....

I run 15 fans in my rig, and it noise wise it's still manageable
it's the matter of what fans you are running and fan control is a plus :)
