Modifying Model M rubber dome keycaps to buckling spring
« on: Mon, 27 June 2011, 04:16:38 »
Has anybody ever done this?

Got my keycap order from acfrazier today; I ordered a full set of black keys as part of it. Everything was sweet except the spacebar is a rubber dome (`Quiet Touch') spacebar (the protrusion on the bottom is filled in, there's no recess for a spring).

Normally I'd order another but I'm a bit far from Merika and the shipping makes it a pain.

Did anybody ever grind/clip/stab out the middle bit for use on a buckling spring board?
