As much as I'd love to join the Kishsaver club... that price is just too much to overcome.

I hope this doesn't sell for nearly that high. The buyer will be right out wasting their money. The current highest interested bid for an unrestored Kishsaver seems to be ~$260. Maybe in five to ten years when it's become a legend again, maybe it will get close to $500. Maybe a solid and well built Xtant with a fully custom case could run at these prices, but not an unmodified, unrestored board that's still in need of a lot of love.

That said, how rare are Kishsavers in the grand scheme of things? Have we unearthed almost all of them or are there hundreds left to be found? Model F AT are going for $200-250 regularly on eBay. Is a Kishsaver really worth the same as an AT in the current market?

  • Missed another sale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Isn't a joke I'm afraid.

That said, I am hoping and praying that Wcass manages to figure out how to make model F hammers and barrels. Once that is done, there will be no more rarity value and the market will be restored to its senses.

They wanted to chuck away their banking terminal keyboards, and plug PC keyboards into their incompatible banking terminals?

I remember when the northgate omnikey came out and everyone wanted to chuck these away.

That's okay, the northgates then got tossed to be replaced by black rubber dome boards.

Yeah, couldn't of said it any better.

Wrong.

This guy is fine. He's just waiting for a BUYER smoking the ole crack pipe.

And regrettably, there are many such buyers. Probably has something to do with the recent legalization of marijuana?
