Triumph Adler Royal Alpha 600P? Semi-Great find
« on: Mon, 30 January 2017, 20:25:02 »
Just picked this up at a local thrift store for $7.99 because I thought it looked cool. As far as I can tell, it works. I don't know how to use it though...

I sent a picture to my roommate who likes keyboard as much as me (if not more). He told me about GMK TA Alpha keycap set that was based off the Alpha 610 (which has MX compatible keycaps). This made me very excited.

Unfortunately, this is the Triumph Adler Royal Alpha 600P... The 610 is the one that has MX compatible keycaps. This one does not. They are double-shot ABS which is kinda cool.
Heres a link to a model 610 that looks just like this one. Apparently these have the M9 switches so you can use the keycaps on MX switches as well.

It feels mushy to type on. I have no idea what switch type this is but there's a cylinder that moves up and down inside the spring. Not exactly what I was hoping. Still an interesting find though. Thought I'd just share some pics and stuff.

The spring on it makes me keen to say foam & foil but I've got no clue about typewriters so that may be way off-base.

Dude, those are awesome! I really like the GMK set that was inspired by these keysets.

Who cares how it feels? If you spot something with a keyboard that good-looking, in as good condition as that, and that cheap, there's no reason NOT to snap it up IMHO.  :?)
