There has been some interest in an Ottawa-area meetup (Ontario, Canada).

I'm thinking a weekend or evening in February would work best.

Location to be determined.

Let's figure out who might be interested and what date/time works best.

People may be interested in coming up from Montreal, too, so some kind of carpooling arrangement could be made if that's the case.

I can bring boards from what's in my signature, if there are any special requests.

Hmm.. well, depending on how many people are interested, perhaps we'd be better off just carpooling down to Toronto for that meetup instead.

That's really good of you to accommodate! Generally, evenings after the kids have gone to bed (usually after about 8:30pm) are best. But these days, it's hard to commit to much in the way of social plans no matter when they are. I'd encourage you guys to plan something that's convenient for you. I'll probably have to make a last minute decision either way. If I end up not making it to this one, hopefully I'd make it to the next one

I think my colleague is a little more flexible, and he also mentioned he's got a buddy from Kingston who might come up if there's an Ottawa get-together. I'll try to get those guys on here so they can weigh in as well!

It's looking good that I'll be able to make it out at least for part of the meet-up. Have you guys thought of a location at all? Depending on what part of town everyone's in, one thought I had was Pub Italia on Preston St. It's got a great beer selection, and it's never too loud.

I'll also try and bring some cool artisans (a couple otterophiles, a Fugu, a bunch of SUK Snappers, some KeyForge caps) and keysets or something. Hopefully GMK Hydro will be here by then. Also have a switch tester with some Cherrys and Gaterons.

I'll check if my roommate is available too, as he is quite into it as well. I also have a DCS set, an SA set, a GMK/Cherry set, and a flat OEM set (just the silly typewriter caps) if people have interest in trying different profiles out?

The Blurry Pixel is a pretty fun little place downtown. They might be into that sort of thing, but I'm not sure how crowded it might be since it isn't all that big.

I had midterms this morning and afternoon. Only just got out. FeelsBadMan. 

That's rough man, hope midterms went well. For the next one, let's try to establish a location and time well in advance. That should help ensure that everyone can make it out.

Thanks. I wasn't supposed to have them but 4 midterms in 3 days created a conflict for people so they made two of them on the Saturday instead.

Oh cool! I was waiting for you to post the pictures you took! I ought to bring my camera out to the next meetup too.

btw, my main keeb right now is an Aitalk Z-88, it's just one of those cheap Chinese boards, and goes by different names depending on who licenses it out. However, it has N-Key Rollover, RGB backlighting, doubleshot keycaps, and Outemu Blue Switches which are plate mounted and replaceable. A good value for the $60 I paid for it

Agreed! It was a lot of fun, and I think the location worked really well too. Thanks for sharing the pics! We definitely had a neat collection of boards.

I don't think there's been any talk since the last meetup, but it would be great to organize one. Might be good to try for nearer to the end of the month to allow for enough time to plan and settle on a location.

So, I'm trying to coordinate this thread and the Canadian mechanical keyboard discord. After yesterday's Mini-meetup and recieving a decent amount of interest for a mid sized meetup, maybe late fall/early winter?
