PMK Layouts for ICs and GBs question...
« on: Wed, 04 March 2015, 16:04:24 »
Just curious if anyone is familiar with the designing aspect of the PMK interest checks on keycap design.  Specifically, do they go right from the template you submit.. or do you need to include a font like a ttf or otf for legends?

I was dabbling with the template earlier and was curious.  I was thinking if I made a custom keycap design, that I should use Illustrator over Photoshop because vector might be a little more versatile.  Anyone with experience doing this I would appreciate some help... thanks!

PMK has some strict requirements for custom legends. There's a document floating around. I'll see if I can find the link. I know that they only accept SVG files, for example.

Talk to engicoder. He helped me with a couple designs for Danger Zone.

As for interest checks... They will just use whatever art you provide. If you read their web site they say they'll even take crayon on construction paper. I don't know how true that really is but you get the idea. The better and more accurate your art is, the better your chances of having a successful GB. So use whatever tool you're most comfortable with.

A good 3D render can sell a lot of key caps.   ;)

Yes... SVG completely makes sense.  I was thinking they would need vector over pixel.  I think I was getting ahead of myself... thanks.

It sure can! Just look at my GID Relegendables! Thanks to Mogo, yet again, for that rendering.
