How many keyboards did you get in the last weeks? I am so damn jealous :D what is your first impression on the mouse?

2 :)

It's damn nice. Bulky and fits the palm perfectly.
I really like the design!
I was a little surprised when I looked up the price, as it is about $40 cheaper than my current roccat kone xtd. Definitely on the list now! But on the other hand the CST trackball fits the HHKB so damn nice. Possibilities, so many of them

First impressions, very well built, solid, nice weight (1.2 Kg, 2Lb 10oz), the case has a rough texture finish which I like, good rubber feet. Not sure what the dipswitch settings are or the function layer but I typically don't use any of that anyway. And I already knew I loved the key caps, I swore I didn't like PBT until I got some of these leopold caps a while ago and I am still using my other set of caps on my daily board.

For $120 for me it was a no brainier, the only thing that would have made it better would have been if it came with MX clears but honestly these reds aren't so bad either. I'll likely open it up and swap the switches out eventually but for now I might leave it alone and see how it goes.

Received a pre-production Topre PBT spacebar from Matt3o today. I think it turned out pretty good. Only a few little defects that no one would normally notice. A few specs of dark gray here and there. I can definitely live with it.

Now I just need to order a Realforce... lol. Damn you EliteKeyboards for being out of stock :(

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Not keyboard related.. I got really into fountain pens and journaling :) Got my first pen, a Rhodia journal, and some Iroshizuki ink! Not pictured is the other pen, 4 bottles of ink, journal, leather journal cover, and fancy stationery I got to write letters on... yet another sickness-.. I mean hobby!

Also got a couple of pounds of coffee beans from Wild Goose Coffee Roasters. If you love high quality coffee, you HAVE to try Wild Goose. I think they're my favorite roaster so far, and I've tried quite a lot of them :)

Oh, and a big giant 7 pound sketchbook, new Prismacolor pencils, graphite pencils, graphic pens.... Still waiting on my Hot Keys Project keys, my Mimic cables.... a fun mail week in this house :)

How do you like the Iroshizuku ink? I bought the Kon-peki when that line first released and found it too watery. Haven't used it in years, but I'm willing to try the black. I have to try all black and black-blue inks.

I find that the Iroshizuku inks are some of the best behaved inks I have ever used. They do write fairly wet but are not what I would call watery. They don't dry out on the nib as easily as some other inks. They never leave stains or residue inside your pens. Most of them exhibit some beautiful shading when used on good paper. I think my favorite aspect of the Iroshizuku inks is the absolutely gorgeous sheen they leave when used with a fairly wet-writing pen. I have the Kon Peki and Tsuki Yo which both have a beautiful reddish, metallic sheen and also Yama Budo which has a sparkling golden sheen.
