reservedHey thank you so much! Actually I initially thought red too and tried to add it, but unfortunately it instantly gave a bad military vibe.
usually i think of red when i think of cult like stuff tho.
set is still nice :thumb:
As far as San Serif fonts I did try that initially but it felt so 'ordinary' and kinda didn't match the style of the spooky novelties. At least that's the impression I got.
Please consider changing "~#" key to a pipe key for iso-us support
Filled IC. Looks great and I'm really excited to see how it goes! TL;DR of my IC: would love to see some 40s support in the form of more fun keys in rows 2 and 3.
Stop forcing me to buy the strange alphas. Alphas should just be in base kit for me to even consider.
please put your alphas in the base kit

I If I took out Green though it was Instantly Hot Topic... which actually might not be all that bad if people wanted it though.
Looks really cool, love to see different fonts. Any chance for an additional set of all mods in that beige color or the same as the alphas? Also a text version of the ISO enter would be cool, then the one with the skull could go in the novelty kit instead. This are some great suggestions. I'm at the very least going to try to make a text iso enter.
Yeah I guess so. If there are some red novelties/accents or red printed novelties/accents might be cool though.
Hmm I'm thinking what it would look like if it was based on the original cherry legend positioning and font size. I would enjoy it more if it was in that layout. Right now, I'm not digging it, especially if you're doing it in PBT which I don't think will yield good results. cause reverse dyesub does not work out most of the time
Looks nice, I like the theme :)Hello sam
Just one thing to note; it would be best to work with Pantone U (Uncoated) or TCX etc. if you want things to go smoothly, as coated colors will be desaturated a lot.
One thing to note as well is that C colors cannot translate into U colors, as it has occurred a couple times with some PBT sets using C in renders and U in production.
You will need several sample rounds to calibrate to what saturation you would want (as first samples would be desaturated).
With uncoated, you will probably have it closely calibrated to the Pantone chip as there is no coat (shine) with PBT and will maybe need very minor calibration adjustments. :thumb:
Just giving some tips so nothing happens, as it's a nice looking set.

Oh thanks for your feedback! I hadn't heard that PBT doesn't yield great results. What do you mean specifically by saying it won't work out? Let me know because I've never heard of this. :-[
I love the alchemy alphas and arrows, but I really dislike the font for the mods.
This is a lot to ask for, but Since you seem to have a talent for the icon and novelty design, I think this kit will really shine with custom icon mods.

I really like the text on the mods, so I think having an option for both would be best, then it'd be possible to go all icons, all text or mix and match.

treeleaf is talking about reverse dyesub(or 5-side dyesub) where instead of dye subbing the legend onto the keycaps, you have the keycaps in the legend color and dying the non-legend area into the color you want, you have to do this because you can not dyesub a lighter color onto darker color, which will result in the PBT caps getting blasted in the heat on all side and will make the keycaps warp
And not only that, but the legend quality can suffer because you are putting more surface area dye
which is harder to control. It's harder to perfect.
At least this is my personal experience
This is a major problem, basically, no manu has got reverse dyesub down, with musubi, because the whole set isn't reverse it is much easier to qc instead of every key needing itAnd not only that, but the legend quality can suffer because you are putting more surface area dye

Is this a real big concern? For instance I just got infinikey musubi in the mail, and there's a lot of light grey printed on red and blue (which are darker) and it looks pretty darn good.

Is there a solution to this besides doubleshotting? I don't think that would be viable for a whole set right? Because it would cost big bucks to do a whole set with new molds for doubleshots? Please give me your opinion oh wise chicken! :DNo real cherry manu that does it the best, epbt will be your best option as they are improving, but for now it's just tough luck
I think making icon mods is a pretty dang good idea. So I'm going to do it! It will be in the style of the arrow keys so that it basically becomes a forest of treebranches around your keyboard.
This set only interests me if the base has the icon alphas. I’m not interested in Latin alphas, and I think it would be diluting the theme if these were in the base.
The set also needs to have a R3 home key.
The novelties are on point, they look great.
Thanks for the feedback! And the bit about the r3 home key, that’s a good catch.
And yep please hold for a few transmutations of this set! It should be too long.

DO IT!!!! I can see it in my mind already. It’s going to look awesome.
this is a really cool idea and it's great to see how much effort you put into it!
a personal opinion - i think the set as a whole would look a lot tighter and cleaner if you make the legends a little smaller. the mod text is way bigger than any mod text ever and kind of takes away from the alphas (and the size differences are too obvious, it should be very minimally different), and the alpha symbols are cool but slightly tooooo big so it looks a bit crowded. however this is just what i think, if you're happy with what you have then it's a non-issue :)
kitting feedback - i find it a bit strange and excessive that there are novelties in the base kit, yet there's a separate novelties set on top of it. if you want to provide a latin alphas option for people who want the colour scheme/font without the symbols completely, the base kit should have latin ESC as well.
Once I saw PBT Transmutation I thought it had to do with FMA Brotherhood, was gonna come in here and insta type reserved. But I clicked into a pleasant surprise. I personally do like the set because it is so different. The font of the mods is a bit off putting, I don't really like the the size of the lettering too but it fits with the theme. If it were a smaller and different font I think it would look weird so keep the mods the same imo! I really like the touch with the numbers too. GLWIC!
I hope my feedback is well received. I know it’s a huge ask to redesign/work the numbers, but I think this design will be better for it. IMHO, currently, after the awesome mods, it’s the number legends which are the weak point now.
Also, just because I would love to see this set actually make MOQ, perhaps consider 2 base kits, one symbol only legends, and the other Latin? That way you won’t alienate either camp. (I’m in camp symbol btw)
Love this set and the idea of a KB thats only symbols and novelties. What colour keyboard do you think this would go well with?
Would definitely pick this up, whats the projected GB date looking like?

If you can find yourself the rare green keyboard this would go perfectly, but I've found Black keyboard and cream keyboards work best!
Oh and yeah right now we're getting quotes from different manufacturers so we should be able to choose one any day now- once we do that they'll give us a timeframe and I'm thinking the GB will happen right after that! I hope soon-ish!?
Huge update on this set!
This was a lot of rework by me over the past few months. I touched almost everything in the set, redid the words on the modifiers, redid the fonts, created a symbolic modifier set based on tree branches (for that spooky VVitch vibe), added symbols to the numpad and much more. Also made another spooky deskmat to add to the set!
Also on the logistic side my vendor found a possible manufacturer and ordered samples! (now we wait some more)
Thanks to everyone who has shown interest in this set so far, hopefully this means with your posts, that this thing is going to get made (and actually if all goes well, going into GB quite soon!)
Also should I make a discord for this project? Would there be enough interest for something like that?!
It kind of sucks that in order to get Latin mods with the base kit alphas that I need to buy two things instead of one. Nevertheless, I am still looking foward for the groupbuy. Hopefully the added number pad on the base kit won't add to much to the cost. :thumb:
I am in love with this set and cant wait! be keen to see the vendor for Aus!! do you have any renders on a white board? or some on the way?
Awesome set! It would be cool if the core set included space bars for split keebs
Do you have a discord or anything I can join?
Amazing work, especially on the alphas! I've lost way too much money on keebs this year, but if you ever run the set in another profile (DSA? KAT?) I'd be all over it. Those alphas are way too good to be a once-off, but personally I think centered legends look better on rounded profiles. Might give you some freedom to run a mono grey version too, which would make it easier to pair with more boards. Just my two cents.
Also thought I'd say this looks like a ridiculously good fit for KeebsForAll's olive FB60 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=112494.0;attach=272190;image)?
Oh my word I love this. instant must buy for me. I hate how much I like both the symbol mods and text mods. God damn this is going to be an expensive buy but I think its going to be my eventual beige build because that is going to look great.
So, you plan to have regional vendors? I want to join this too, in EU.
