PC fans have been stagnated in technology for a long time. How do you reinvent the fan? All they've done is add gaudy lights.

Well, the lights are kewwwl as long as it's used tastefully, which 99% of the time it isn't.

Then the market got so dysfunctional that the only way to make a buck was to sell m0ar fans. So the kiddos are all building giant light spiders now.

The opposite pressure is just as bad.  The cases these days can't be sleak due to the airflow requirement for MESH, so Stealth boxes aren't really a thing, they all look sandy.

Water cooling + custom cabling can solve some of the issues, but who really wants to spend $500-800 just for that.


Companies like MSI, ASUS, ASROCK, Gigabyte are the only companies that can push the envelope because they control the boards, and therefore can stretch the margin + Formfactors.   But they've all settled on Don't Care.  Their prebuilts are dishwater boring.

Halo Infinite PC makes the GPU hotter than Furmark.  :-X

They were right about the engine being a resource hog.
