We're still expecting collabs with Hot Keys Project and Keyforge but no samples to reveal yet. The Hot Keys Project caps will include some of that green screen goodness to complete the look.

There is probably a non-trivial number of people who are relatively new to keyboards, for whom this would be a slam-dunk buy, but who don't have a good sense for how renders translate into ABS plastic,  and are turned off by the contrast thing.

If people are worried about this I'd like to put their minds at rest. The mod colour is the trickiest to match to the Gameboy as it's based on the reflective screen surround rather than abs plastic like the rest of the colours, so I'll be erring on the side of legibility when approving that colour.

My friends, we are still not in the clear yet. I am going to be buying some sets myself to help towards nudging us over the line. Jason TKC is being amazing and buying A LOT more extras than usual. I know some of you have bought multiple sets as well so thank you all so much for going the extra mile. We're all stretching to help make this set a reality and it would be a real shame to fall just short. So yeah, anyone else still left on the fence about this, go get yourself a set before Friday. It's going to be a beautiful thing to have on your keyboard and if you don't get it now you'll either never get the chance, or you'll be paying a premium on r/MM. We can do it people!

So I'm like 80% going to buy this set (budget restrictions, and this set ain't cheap), but to make my decision more clear, could you please specify qualitatively what colors you are going for?  I know you said you will send GMK a Gameboy to color-match, but since they come in different conditions and degrees of yellowing, I thought I'd ask. What I mean is, the renders show more "white" alphas than Gameboy DMG seems to be on google images.  Are the alphas going to be lighter / darker / or about the same as your typical classic Cherry beige doubleshot alphas?  Kind of cream beige or more toward gray?  The schematic render calls them "gray", but they are clearly not neutral gray.

Also curious how the magenta will come out.  Those magenta accents as well as the dark gray arrow cluster make up the majority of my interest in this set, but I'm still curious about the rest.

Sure. The Gameboy I've bought is in excellent condition and doesn't have any yellowing as far as I can tell. The outside of the case matches the inside of the battery compartment. I have another Gameboy which certainly has started to take on a little of that dingy DMG look and the one I've bought is noticeably brighter. Comparing directly here with my beige GMK under halogen lights, I'd say they're of fairly similar brightness but certainly less cream and more towards grey. I'd call it greige if I wasn't aware of how serious this stuff can get.  I couldn't get a Pantone close enough that I was happy with for this colour, so I won't state one here. However I did find close matches for the magenta and purple, which were Pantone 235c and 2745c respectively. Huge caveat here of course as these were Pantones from colour cards, not from plastic chips, and they were compared to a plastic Gameboy, in a bright studio, and now anyone inclined to look them up will most likely be looking at varying results from a google search on whatever monitor they're using and however that's calibrated, etc, etc. Anyway, I hope that helps somewhat and, of course, I hope you join.
