Last year, I was asked here on GeekHack as well as Facebook if I could do illuminated LED cables. I made some mock ups before Christmas last year, but I was not 100% happy with them; I don't like to release things that I would not be happy in receiving myself. I trawelled through my massive old threads in the classifieds before I had a sub-forum (30 pages of content to look through
), it was well over 1 year ago, so sorry for taking so long. I was asked in Feb 2013
I am happy to say, after much deliberation, experimentation, ups and downs, I can happily say I am in a position that I can release the LED cables, safe in the knowledge the quality and finish of the cable is up to my standard.
I will release more info on them later today, price will be competitive against my standard USB Cables and a 3ft LED cable will be 15GBP.
Sleeving options will mainly be matte and clear materials to allow the illumination sufficient bleedthrough (read, you can have paracord on these badboys).
For now, here is a potato pic of a prototype I made a while back.
