I'm a fan or browns myself.  Got a full-size shine 2 with white LEDs and a couple of modest mods.  You got any plans for modding yours?
For the moment, just waiting these to come:

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Always wanted a YOTD, but there were only a couple of Cherry Red models left in my neck of the woods. So, while out browsing around in the local tech mall, I stumbled on one with Cherry Brown switch and I gave in to the temptation....

I'd dropped by the local distributor's office and asked about the YOTS, he said that he's been told that they'd be shipped out next week. I don't know the the time frame between shipping and their physically being put up for sale, but I'd think it's about 10 days to 2 weeks more or less.

Nice yellow - although I do have one yellow Topre (looking at it right now - it is balanced on my Model M) it never seems quite as yellow as the photographs of Topre yellow would suggest.

You're right, the yellow isn't as vibrant as they appear in my pics......but it's still a nice shade of yellow.

Do Ducky parts count? :p

I took apart my Shine II today so that I could use the original plate as a reference for the custom plate that I'll have cut soon.

Here are some shots of the PCB for those that are interested.

dammit, that would be a pretty expensive set for my filco TKL, to buy a ducky keyboard for the caps LOL

or is it possible to buy the caps separately? o.o

maybe i'll buy the ducky and take it to work and keep the caps for my filco at home lolz.

I personally have never seen just the Blue&Grey Ducky PBT caps sold separately.

Did me some horse trading earlier, swapped my Trigger Red for a Ducky DS9008S MX Blue with green LED, it's a nice looking keyboard. Looking at the green backlight, I'm beginning to wonder why I do have more of them, green LED is pretty pleasing to my eyes. Yes, it's an older Ducky, but in excellent shape, disinfect the key caps and thoroughly removed dust and whatnot with a brush and a can of compressed air.

Green is real easy on the eyes, I had a white led Ducky and it was annoying looking down at the keyboard it took a second for my eyes to focus. I bought white thinking it would be more neutral but it wasn't. Green is good on Duckys.

White is best for various coloured custom keycaps as they highlight the natural colour of the keycaps.

I like how everyone posts the number of the YotS keyboard they have.

To all the YOTS owners, do you feel any different typing on the Alu frame with plastic base? Or it is really just for the cosmetic?

No difference between typing on YOTS and typing on the plastic frame ducky shine2.
What differed is the overall built quality between the two. YOTS looks better built to me.
