[IC] Future Mekanisk Group Buy's
« on: Thu, 15 June 2017, 07:59:29 »
Everything here is outdated!!!

Hello, here are some of the stuff I want to make available for the community. I have not been able to ship all the FJELL cases yet, but I am working my way through with that first priority.
I might run this together, seperate or at different times. If you have any thoughts, please let me know. All the prices are estimates, and will change before any group buy start.

High Quality 60% kit

$245
High Profile Aluminium case: Mekanisk Simple Case

PCB - TBD
Plate - Aluminum, or brass(+$15) ISO/ANSI Pro
Stabilisers

FJELL R2

FJELL Classic $250
- Plate ISO/ANSI pro brass $38

FJELL Pro - top mounted FJELL HHKB/Normal $TBD
 - kit with plate / pcb / stabilisers

render is not finalized, and is missing essential pieces, like the top mounted plate.

Will FJELL R2 have a similarly limited number of sold units? Or will the number of units increase for future rounds, now that you understand the logistics behind the project?

I'm down for either or both FJELL  and FJELL PRO.

I hope the Fjell Pro can become a reality, I'd love to get my hands on a Blue one so I can put SA Dasher on it and some Lubed MX Silents

OH GOSH. FJELL PRO HHKB, PLZ!

I need 2! Or 3! Grey, Purple and...RED! (Plz LeandreN!)

I mean, I need a regular Top mount FJELL pro as well, and a normal FJELL eventually. If you run them both together, that would be fantastic, but if only one takes priority, then FJELL Pro HHKB all the way!

Will we have a brass plate option for the FJELL HHKB Pro?

Order of most wanted:

1) FJELL Pro HHKB
2) FJELL Pro Normal
3) Top mount 75% FJELL
4) FJELL Tray mount

In the end, I need them all! You're the man, LeandreN! Making dreams not just be dreams!

Edit: Did I mention I love you, LeandreN? You. Are. Awesome!

Dumbass question warning - what's the difference between the regular version of the Fjell and the Pro? I assume one is top mounted is not by what is said, but I honestly have no idea what that means (I buy all my boards either assembled or have friends kindly assemble them for me as I don't solder).

Either way, all three offerings seem fantastic, I'd like a Fjell of any kind and the "simple case" looks very promising too. Plus, I'm more than willing to support any EU based businesses whenever I can.

The difference is the Fjell Pro is for the Happy Hacking Keyboard layout, which a lot of people prefer because it's small but has the functionality of a full-size keyboard

You're slightly incorrect here.

Top mount isn't purely for aesthetics, but for typing feel too. There's a big difference between a tray mount Case (Plate/PCB attach to the bottom of the case) versus a top mounted case (Plate attached to the top case, PCB floats free). Most high quality customs tend to be top mounted.

I could elaborate more, but in sure someone will jump in and give their experiences with both! I'm a huge fan of top mounted cases, however.

Edit: I also believe he may offer both top mounted HHKB and top mounted 60% if this is chosen! Fringers crossed!

I appreciate both responses, that's very nice of you to clear that up for me - fingers crossed indeed, I'd probably go for the HHKB layout myself as I already own a good 60% board and have no MX HHKB yet but being able to choose would definitely be great!

Just a question, can I use a 3rd party PCB and stabs with a top-mounted case? or do they need to be made specifically for them to be compatible?

I am potentially interested in a simple case and very interested in the Fjell pro so perhaps not running all of them at the same time would be better for me  ;D

Would like maybe some standalone plates and/or Nerd60 PCBs in the future too, any chance of Leandre Round 6 or will round 5 be the last time you run PCB and plates GB?

I'm curious why you think the pro would look different than the normal fjell. The Fjell Pro has both full 60% and HHKB layouts, albeit with different tops.

Does regular Fjell have HHKB layout?

Also screw holes.
