I'm grateful for any help I end up with. Worst case scenario I'll have to box up about 130 sets on my own, could be worse.

If you were on the West Side (best side) I would help you out, but you're stuck in the East 1999 My Nina's

mfw digi thinks Ohio is on the east coast.

He's in Cleveland Ohio, Bone Thugs territory, come on Hoffanato.. don't let me down..

I'm guessing that's a reference to some facet of "rap" or "hip-hop" culture.

Because I was listening to Led Zeppelin at that time.

It has nothing to do with age, my friend.  ;)

Nah, Cleveland's east side vs. west side is a bit of a rivalry. West siders are grumpy all the time because the sun is always in their eyes on the way to and from work.

I'm old enough to remember Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony (I graduated in '99), but I don't think I could name even one of their songs. My buddies and I were listening to and making punk rock at that time.

Crossroads of America, what a great slogan. May as well be, "Indiana: Drive through us to get somewhere cool!"

I have always characterized Indiana as the place you pass through on your way to somewhere else.

But don't get me started in Ohio's obsession with being the birthplace of flight...

Yep we invented flight because it's the fastest way out of Ohio.

Obviously it's because any state that doesn't touch the Pacific ocean is on the east coast.  :))

Breh.  Birthplace of flight.  Wright brothers are from Ohio.  Which IMO is more important than where they happened to do the flying - but that's just me.  ;)

Also there were more presidents born or raised in Ohio than any other state.

It's also got the only non-rectangular state flag.

I did a report on Ohio in 5th grade.

Yes, they did. :D

My grandfather had driven from Ohio in a Model T (this was in the late 1930's), and he sold it for the salvage value, $10, when he got to Texas. He bought a cowboy hat for -- you guessed it $10. They worked on a ranch near Junction, TX for about a year, then they hitchhiked back to Ohio. My grandfather joined the Army Air Corps a couple years later when the war broke out, and was a P-47 pilot. Funnily enough, he did his pilot training in Brady, TX, and that's where he met and fell in love with my grandmother. She was about 14 or 15 at the time. After the war, he returned to Texas and married his true love. They are still together, and they now live in New Mexico. :)

My grandfather is a pretty smart fellow for a high school dropout.

Can not imagine trading my car for a hat.  That must be one magical hat he picked up, JD.  ;)

Enjoyed the story though.  :D  Sounds like exciting times for sure.

I refuse to call soda "pop"

Smart man.  Calling a thing something that it is not is silly.  :P

Agreed. It's too bad everyone is wrong by not calling it Coke.  :))

Haha, how did this comment slip over here instead of the Dialect Discussion split thread? I don't even see that post in this thread anymore!

Yeah, people down here tend to use "coke" as a general term. I've said it that way a few times myself, haha, but I feel like it makes no sense, so I try and stick to soda. Some in certain areas also call them "cold drinks."

Aaay, po boys! Ya see that on the map? We're like the ONLY state that calls sub sandwiches something that is completely different from everyone else, but only true po boys, not Subway sandwiches, haha.

My paternal grandfather's family is all from Ohio. He and his buddy ran away to Texas at age 16 to be cowboys. True story.
So did they become cowboys?

The fact that he sold his car to buy a hat is the best part of the story.

+1

+2

Can not imagine trading my car for a hat.  That must be one magical hat he picked up, JD.  ;)

Enjoyed the story though.  :D  Sounds like exciting times for sure.

That is a pretty awesome thing to do though

Sounds like something out of an exploitation movie

Hey all, just checking in. Nothing new to report since my last update, which means things should still be right on schedule for a late December/early January ship date.

It feels kind of weird posting an "update" that doesn't update anything, but I just don't want to leave anyone to wonder what's going on.

I am totally looking forward to these delicious, delicious caps. I can't wait, man! I also can't wait to try the very divisive DSA infinity blanks. :o Seeing as I've never typed on DSA before, aside from a single Deskthority DT cap courtesy of skullydazed, it'll either be a real treat or I'll have a bad time and all the DSA stems are going to break off in my keyboard if not just yank my hotswap switches out of their sockets (which is no cakewalk, mind you!).

*Non-updates* are much appreciated.  People get nervous when there is silence for extended periods of time, even when the silence falls well within the stated timeline. :thumb:

I second.  I'll take too much communication from the GB leader, rather than not enough.

Just checking in, since I haven't been on GH for about a week and I don't want anyone seeing my "last active" date and getting worried.

I just posted some IRL problems over in the What's Bothering You thread, related to a delay in our moving date and the loss of a close friend to a sudden heart attack, but rest assured neither of those will impact this buy. The funeral is already over and I don't expect to see the caps before our new move-in date anyway.

I also can make my way over to Cleveland in January, things have slowed down for me, just need proper notice. I know how much a burden the keycap/GB sorting process can be.

I ordered a few extras of certain pieces to cover error margins and stuff like that. If I end up with any extras I may sell them, but that will have to wait until all the GB orders are accounted for.
