What about Solarized Dark? Apology for late request.  :p

Updated the last post. The comparison now includes GMK Solarized Dark as well.

You are awesome! :thumb:

We might be waiting a little bit longer since he has some stuff in todo to finish like adding 40's/ortho/split module, and possibly deskmat design.

The market for GBs is also pretty saturated at the moment so idk if there is much of a rush. Hopefully it won't take as long as Oblivion was in IC.

Sweet Jesus I hope not. He has vendors, so hopefully in the next couple of week we will know when the GB will open. If it drags out too long people will lose interest.

Maybe a non-error novelty set that might help with some rare keys? I need some odd keys in certain positions but would be happy with slightly ambiguous legend names / icons to fill these spots.

Also wouldn’t mind if this just said “lock” as I don’t use caps but would use that key for something else.

I don’t think any recent sets have! GMK Originative from a while back has one, and outside of custom keysets, Limited edition Realforces have all included 1.25u (1.5u for non R2/JIS) caps lock keys.

Edit: Looks like a lot of Originative keysets have them, including Tokyo Nights and Hyperfuse Origins!

Kindly consider adding R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn to the base kit, as well as using “Scroll” and “Num” legends instead of “Scroll↵Lock” and “Num↵Lock” (also “Caps” instead of “Caps↵Lock” on the stepped key) for a clean, single-line look across the entire set. :)

Further, I don't think a 1.25u Menu key is all that useful — consider removing it and just using the 1.25u Fn in its place? I believe that's what most recent GMK sets have been doing.

Also, those color comparison pics are super useful; thanks for those!

If you want examples, look at the default layouts for the Massdrop Alt, Whitefox, Tada68, and Uniqey C70.

Need is a strong word. But for many, R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn is the preferred layout for their 65%s — especially if a split Backspace is involved too.

What's driving this ask of R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn?  It seems like pretty recent phenomenon.
I'm trying to understand if it's worthwhile to support that in addition to R2 PgUp and R3 PgDn which have been more or less baseline so far.

65% and 75% layouts use these r3 and r4 pgup and pgdown. Alternatively on my 75% i can do r2 and r3 pgup and pgdown, with r4 end, but most sculpted keysets i have do not propose that key.

And again I wonder, how many personal preference options are we going to give 65% before we offer 1 keycap for basic 40% in the base kit... There's already two different options for 65% users on that row I think that's plenty. You don't need to have r1/r2 and r2/r3 and r3/r4 pgup/pgdown I feel.

It's hardly recent. GMK Muted, SA Honeywell etc., for example, only offered R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn compat, not R2 and R3. This is still the case with JTK sets. I think it's worthwhile supporting them at least as much as 1.5u Super keys — R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn arguably see about the same amount of use as those, if not more so. Certainly more than R1 1u Backspace.

More people are getting more keyboards that use those keys, and want keycaps that fit their layout.  Massdrop has sold 4,400 Alts so far; I wouldn't be surprised if that makes it the most common 65% out there now (it's either that or the Tada68).  Anyone looking at GMK Dracula is probably also watching GMK Nord and GMK Oblivion V2, and both of those sets already include R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn in their kits.

It's a good thing then that the majority of 65% boards - perhaps all - can be reprogrammed to fit whatever layout you want.

Seems like perhaps r2 PgUp and r3 PgDn need to be revisited. I wonder if more people use r3 and r4 instead. I see more people asking for r3 and r4 support now.

Right. I'm wondering aloud if R3, R4 is more popular now than R2, R3. By adding R3, R4 support, that would make 7 keys dedicated to PgUp and PgDn. It makes sense for some sets to cut this down when trying to keep the base set affordable.

On my 75s I use 2/3 but on 65s I use 3/4.

If we are going to look for keys to get rid of to make kits smaller I think there are some other candidates that definitely get less use like was mentioned above.

This makes sense. For 2/3 and/or 3/4, don't see status quo changing.

On my 75s I use 2/3 but on 65s I use 3/4.

Off tangent, can you share why?  This seems counter to easily move between different layouts.  Curious about any ergonomic related reason as well.

I don't think it's a good idea to remove R2 PgUp, R3 PgDn. There's a place for both options, and I think most sets that seek to offer 65% compatibility should include both. If base kit size becomes a problem, there are, in my opinion, other keys that should be removed first (so I agree with AlcoholEnthusiast in that regard). In Dracula's case, those keys are:
  • R1 1u Backspace — Not commonly used.
  • R4 1.25u Menu — There's already Fn, so this key isn't useful.
  • R2 1u Home — I assume this is also for 65%/75% compat, but I've never seen anyone use a PgUp–PgDn–Home–End right column before, so I don't think it's common enough to justify including this key. If, however, the goal is compatibility with Uniqey C70 and similar keyboards that have two right columns, this key should probably be changed to read Code or Meta. But even then, I wouldn't include it over R2/R3 and R3/R4 PgUp and PgDn (the C70 is another board that uses R3/R4 by default, by the way).
  • R2 1u \| or #~ — Only one of these is needed for baseline ISO support. My personal preference would be to keep \| (since many more ISO layouts use \| than #~ in that position), but either one works. Recently we've seen Oblivion V2 go this route.
If, and only if, base kit size is still a problem after removing the above keys would I consider removing R2/R3 or R3/R4 PgUp and PgDn, or 1.5u Super keys.

I'd think this gets used a lot in ortho layouts.
