Forever Ambre: a tiny keyboard based on linear hexagonal grid

To document the work in progress (version 4), attached are photos of version 1a, the version that was used in the demo video in the first post. Version 1a, rather than 3a shown by photos in the first post, was selected for further development for being smaller, especially in the vertical dimension. The difference is clear from the following photo.

Location of spacers are important to prevent mechanical damage caused by accidental wiring, as illustrated by the following movie scene. (It is horrific, you're WARNED.)

There is a non-negligible change from v1a to v4, but the abscissa (horizontal coordinate) of the rightmost spacers and the ordinate (vertical coordinate) of the topmost spacers are practically unchanged. Indeed, from drawings attached to the first post, the coordinates are only reduced by (178.4500 - 178.4227)/2 ~ 0.0137 mm and (72.9911 - 72.9639)/2 ~ 0.0136 mm respectively.

Photos show that there is no issue with location of spacers in v1a. And so is in v4.

I just updated the first post to v4 with a .dxf that includes the Defpoints layer.

dusan:
v4 design is finished. Source released.
