M56 Keyboard Sleeves
« on: Wed, 27 January 2016, 09:42:14 »
Hello GH members, been spending some freetime for this sleeve designs. nothing too serious, just testing the waters if you guys -
maybe interested with this ? all designs is made by me from scratch via vector based program. also im so sorry if this thread is posted at the wrong area.
sleeve photo template is taken from http://1upkeyboards.com/ , no designs or sketch layout stolen,
just used it for mockuping the design to see how it looks on the sleeves with my design.

originally was creating these just for my personal daily use, since im moving here and there, and this is the 1st time that my bag weight is a bit heavy
because of my newly hobby with the keyboard (pok3r). lol

i've been creating waterproof jacket/hoodies for a long time, and creating this simple sleeve wouldnt be a problem,
since the print studio have no minimum order prints, i can create any design that i want to.

Feel free to browse my released works to check the build quality at :
http://5060.bigcartel.com/

and my IG for daily feeds/updates about my work:
https://www.instagram.com/machine56/

sample prints and waterproof test image from one of my Maliwan hoodie,
Borderlands 2 official licensed.

go for it ? or forget about it ?
what do you guys think ?

More designs and patterns coming soon.

thank you!

Two question: First the obvious, what price range are we talking (rough ball park), and second what kind of padding (if any) would they have?

I'm certainly interested in TKL and 60% sizes.

thank you so much for your appreciation sir , the MKX-C79 is gone for good.

I'm certainly interested in TKL and 60% sizes.

still not sure about the inner padding, prolly the same build like my regular release hoodie, it will be 3 layers material for sure.
ill checkup tomorrow when im at the print studios.

as for the price range, maybe around $25 to $30 usd.

do you guys prefer the sleeves with the tie in ropes just like 1upkeys release ? or variated with velcro for sealing ? or even zipless  like chiton does ?
what do you guys think ?

I like the tie-in ropes like 1up, however theirs are super tough to tie-in (at least on my case), so I don't even bother on mine, but if they're easy to tie-in, then I say yes!

Also like the velcro idea as well, really either/or in my opinion.

ahahaha, that is also a genius idea XD, prolly creating some custom/exclusive release for GH. (key-sleeves & hoodie combo pack)
i might need to talk with the mods for some details regarding some royalty payment stuff.

Those look interesting. I've looked for cases before and really couldn't find any I liked. I've been wrapping mine in microfiber towels to protect them. Depending on your price point I'm in, probably for several of them. I like the velcro so I can close them which is probably easiest to produce.

Microfiber for the inner padding sounds super nice idea, but might bumps the cost a bit.
i'll try to mix and match few materials and see how it looks.  :thumb:

I'm very interested in this, but as with anything I buy, I prefer to learn more about the construction and materials use.

What kind of fabric are you using for the three layers? Would it be a ripstop-like fabric for the outside? Also, will you be sewing these yourself?

not sure what its called in english, but i've been using this fabric to create my waterproof hoodies for years, (sublimated prints)

what do you suggest its best for the inner padding sleeves ?
and yes, i have some small apparel/clothing studio team, sewing this small sleeves should be easy

WOW MACHINE56 ON KEYBOARD STUFF! Surely will cop these. Been fan of yours since middle school!

Sukses terus kang, mau beli helm-nya gapernah kesampean huhu.

EDIT: I prefer the one like chitton, much more simpler and no parts will harm the keyboard like zipper, male velcro, buttons for the rope, etc. And don't forget about cable (or even mouse) slot, this is the thing that 1upkeys sleeve missed as far as I see, but they have another sleeve for cable so...

These look pretty dope so far and would certainly be interested in picking a few up. In terms of closure systems, ropes are cool, velcro is loud, maybe snap buttons or zippers?

Can you do HHKB size please.
Microfibre would be great for the interior. I wouldn't mind paying more.

once the prototype is done, take photos of it,
group buy thread will be open and handled by my friend at https://www.mechanicalkeyboards.co.id/
and yep, as long as you're not living in narnia, anywhere on planet earth are accepted.
is HHKB bigger or smaller than pok3r ? can you please write down the dimension ?

This reminds me a lot of Terratag shirts.

Looks great, do you have an estimate on when you'll start vending?
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

These look amazing. When can we order?
Can you do HHKB size please.
Microfibre would be great for the interior. I wouldn't mind paying more.
Also please say you'll do international shipping :)

Dimensions of HHKB are: 294 x 110 x 39.9mm (11.6 x 4.3 x 1.6in).

Please make this happen soon. They look so cool I can't wait :)

Just checked the 1up keyboards site

Their Pok3r cases are 5.75" x 14"
Their HHKB cases are 6.5" x 14"

So the HHKB case is wider by 0.75"

Fleece would also make a great lining.
Silk would be very nice and I'd be willing to pay a premium for a silk lined one.

These look amazing!

Any chance for a TKL sleeve? I second GLITCH3D as well, I'll be needing a 40% one once my golbat comes in  :)

Maybe a collab with M56 for golbat owners? =OOO

That would make for 2 collabs (first one is a secret!)
