Hi I cannot see the classified section when I am logged in, but I can see it when I am browsing while not on my account.

It looks like you now need to have a certain amount of "experience" to access that part of the forums.

It seems the access to commercial part doesn't depend just on the number of posts. ChaoticKinesis has access, and I don't. I have more posts.

EDIT: okay, apparently you have to be a "Jr. Member" and have at least one post on the NEW geekhack.
The status changes only after the first post on the new forum.

It seems to be more than 10, as those subforums have disappeared for me as well. Outside of possibly laying out what enough 'experience' entails (I haven't looked too hard), it is not too huge an issue for me. I can, however see it causing problems if one was already a part of an ongoing group buy when this changed occurred.

Yeah I wanted to check the status on group buys... I've also participated in two group buys AND bought my first Filco on these boards... but now can't access those sections? That seems incredibly stupid. Hopefully after this post I get access?

I don't know but 7bit_R4 needed 20 posts to be able to view and edit the first post in the largest Group buy thread (Round 4)!

It is totally stupid to lock out lurkers from the Group Buy section.

This 10 post limit really isn't helping and just contributes to spam(and doesn't help much with trust either).

Just let anybody view the classifieds and buy stuff, but require certain credentials(time registered and post count?) to let people sell so yo know you are dealing with a reputable member and can trust them to ship you an item after they receive payment.
