Cool :) I must admit though after 15 minutes I was pretty much rolling my eyes and skipping forward repeatedly, hoping the conversation would turn to SOMETHING other than "why did you not do this kit the standard generic way?!?111" (it did, thankfully). For anyone who wants a generic gray modifiers / off-white alphas with white spacebars, there are lots of options already, like GMK Oblivion with monochrome legends or GMK Honeywell. Seriously, the whole point of this set is rose gold accents on modifiers and rose gold base keys... Mind-boggling that people spend so much energy arguing in favor of trying to shift what makes this set special into a separate add-on.

I’m doing everything I can to make it hit. I’m planning on purchasing a good amount of the extras so that we can hit MOQ. Obviously I can’t buy 150 sets myself, but I also am working on some other ideas to get this going.

I considered the peachy pink tint for a while and decided to experiment with neutral and warm white LEDs + translucent spray paint. I used to spray paint random stuff a lot and still have Duplicolor Metalcast cans in red and blue. The best result ended up being warm white LED with a veil of blue and then red over it (I use a little LED tester to check results). I then stuck a keyboard’s worth of LEDs into a foam roll (need to make sure to cover the metal legs) and sprayed the LEDs with Duplicolor Adhesion promoter transparent primer. After a couple of minutes I followed with an even mist of Metalcast Blue and the Metalscast Red. The LEDs are seated inside Kailh BOX (Hako True, appropriately pink), thus they are protected from accidental scratches of the painted coat.

this is so cool! You have the exact setup I do - m65a, champagne, hako trues, (but no LEDs cause I'm not handy). Looks like I made a good color choice.

i'm in on this GB (with extras, ramas, and desk pads). how difficult/expensive would it be to get a custom colored split aluminum case? i haven't seen any cases like that so i'm guessing it's prohibitive.
could always buy a VE.A or something and have it reanodized/powdercoated

Thanks for the reply. I was concerned that the base kit doesn't have the 1.5u 'Backspace' key but I see that in some renders that it uses the 1.5u 'Delete' key instead which already came with the base kit.
Yes, I believe they've gone with Delete as this is default on the HHKB.

Is cheap for sure! CandyCable has got good ratings! Just takes sometime to manufacture (German thing I guess when it comes to QC and getting it right) If there needs to be a batch of the sent some region we can organise something to make it cheaper.

The GB has already concluded for this.
But the entire point of add on kits is to provide the keycaps for people with more obscure compatibility needs. So you could just order the additional kits to get the base kit to work with you. Hope that makes sense!

I'm interested in a rose gold cable as well! (based in USA). Any hints of what the cable will be like?
Will post pictures here, will take around 5 days. Getting the color right with the screen is pretty hard. I hope the colors we have are going to be matching the Rose Gold on the Set. There are 3 variants coming.

Just a quick thought from my persepective. The Pink keycaps look really good. The grey ones look good, but I think they may be too brown. I am not the designer though, Olivia is. She gets to make the final calls on all things related to this. :)

I think the dark key does look brown, rather than the more charcoal color in the renders. Also, is the rose gold key pink enough to match the artisans? Personally, it looks a little too pale to me, but it could just be my screen. I'm super excited and thanks for the pictures!
I agree now that I look at it more. Compare it to the stem/ housing color of the Novelias and they're definitely more pale, especially to Rama's XO caps. Especially since the Novelias were supposedly made to "perfectly" match the set.

I don't think the photograph is representative, as it looks overexposed, and overall the colors look a little off (like the wood having some green and purple hues). So the peachy-pink is probably (hopefully) darker in person and hopefully a bit more pink. I kinda like that gray. Complex colors are more interesting than just another Dolch with different legend.
I'll try and take some better ones for you next time I meet up with Olivia. Should be in the next week or so, we're just waiting for the final touches on the MEME GB.

The pantone samples beside the key samples makes the difference so much more noticeable! So glad you are sending them to get corrected so that the final board will match your original vision (which I fell in love with :D)

still will be coming, we are just trying some stuff out and seeing what works :) Since Olivia is taking its time a bit we are just waiting it off. We still want to take the GMK Manufacturing tour if possible, need to see what is possible without it upsetting anyone.
Regarding RAMA Works keycaps, they are here now, customers that ordered RAMAWORKS keycaps with us (without the Keycap Set) will get them sent out tomorrow! If you want your keycaps to be sent before the set then just give us a shout :)

I have seen some talks on random discord channels, and I just wanted to address some misconceptions that I have seen.
While the GB ended on April 28, 2018, we have only just received our second round of color samples. That was on Friday, August 31, 2018. The first round of samples werent even close to the actual colors that Olivia had picked out (June 12 is when GMK shipped to us). Thats why we requested second samples (June 21). When GMK received their second color samples, they knew the colors werent correct again (July 20). When this happened, GMK sent out a RAL color guide to Olivia and I to find the colors that most matched what Olivia had intended (July 25). We both, unknowingly, picked out the same RAL colors from the book. RAL is the standard in EU to match colors to, and that is why GMK asked us to choose from there. Once we figured out what RAL color worked, we submitted that to GMK (July 26). That takes us up to the present.
Hope that helps clear up some things. We are just as excited as everyone else to get this set made. :)

Did some initial measurements and seems pretty nominal to the original cherry spec, so assuming these might be the adjusted box switches (someone correct me if I'm wrong!) - but seems okay to me and safe for the GMK Olivia set :)

The circular bumps are normal. They're always there on GMK sets from the way they're produced and then split/clipped into each individual key. As for the rest of the flaws, I can't speak much about them, but it seems like it may be more ordinary than we think.

GMK keycaps certainly came come with little imperfections like that. Can you take a fine grain file and just get rid of it - no harm no foul?
On inspection, the base of my 2 is slightly thicker that the rest of the number as well but certainly not material enough to bother me personally and definitely nothing like a $30 aliexpress set.:)

I've just heard that bulk set imports get stuck in Chinese customs for a long time, and there are significant delays for zFrontier shipping of such products as a result. Many GMK sets have been affected by such delays.

I was so mad when I noticed SA Olivia on the bottom of novelkeys' homepage. Just to realize that I was a day late. Hopefully Olivia was just using that to see if it would be good in SA and I can say I would definitely buy both SA and Cherry profiles of Olivia's set.

I wonder why they went with such a low supply of SA Olivia, knowing how rare and popular the colorway is. They could have sold 25x+ the amount that was available.
Im pretty sure money or profit isn’t a motivating factor for Olivia

They needed 25 more buyers to fill out their existing order.

Consider GMK Olivia goes for $300+ and was a much larger run, I suspect SA Olivia will go for much more.
