Hey guys, updates! Some good news finally!

We've picked up almost all of the wooden cases, save for a few as there's only 2 of us and a lack of storing space...sorry for that. We will be picking the odd few cases left soon.

All of the wooden cases we picked up will be sent out tomorrow, please look out for the emails! Hope these will all arrive before X'mas! Happy holidays everyone!

Nah, that's just the nature of wood. It changes shape for a long time. If you watch those dudes who turn wood on Youtube, they often let wood sit for years before using it. And then they still have issues with the wood swelling/shrinking/cracking

Yeah, wood movement is a big thing when constructing furniture like tables.
I've even encountered it in the Woodkeys BigSwitch kit. When it arrived in the summer, the dowel pegs were too tight and I couldn't get them in. I sanded them to make them fit, and I just noticed yesterday that they're so lose now the case won't stay closed with friction.
But I live in a area with high humidity in the summer and very low humidity in the winter, so I can expect a lot of movement over a years time.

I got my walnut and ash cases today. They look very nice. Just like the photo in the original post.

Just a word of caution about PCB compatibility. The standoffs used in the case are wooden with a brass receptacle in the middle. You will need to be careful out since the radius of the wooden part is fairly large. Because of this, some PCBs might not work without a few adjustments. There are some small nylon washers included with the board. I assume they anticipated interference with some PCBs. However, the washers don't seem to be thick enough to alleviate the issues on the Nerd PCB.

Tested PCBs that work without adjustment:

Sprit FaceW
Zeal 60
Satan 60
GH60 Rev C

PCBs with issues:
Pok3r (no room for the dip switch) You could probably carve out space or and/or add washers to the standoffs to make it work
Nerd 60. A few of the standoffs come into contact with the diodes on the back. You could dremel a lot of the standoff away and it would work fine.

I'll try to post a few photos later. Office in disarray from trying things out and I have to get it picked up first

They sound virtually the same. Case has some really nice acoustics, too. Fairly deep because of the way the caps are recessed.

As we are both working full time, we can only ship on Saturday. Progress has not been ideal as we're not sending out cases fast enough, by now about 80% of the shipments has been sent.

Got my case today. Looks good, but had some minor dents and imperfections. Still happy with it but the visible mark/dent on the front of the case should have been spotted in the quality control.

But this is still gonna be a kick ass build. And I am gonna be one of a very few in Finland typing junk on the internet on this nice piece of wood AFTER christmas. I got my DZ60, brassplate, 67g zealios, some GMK stabs, this case and now just waiting for massdrop to ship my canvas keycaps.

This is gonna be my second or third end game.

Oh, and if there will be a round 2 count me in on a maple case...

So, I got my cases several weeks back. I did a test fit and everything was fine. Went to build a new board with these cases today. Now, neither of them work out. The Walnut won't fit a plate. I thought I would just try to go plateless, but the keycaps rub really badly on the edges. Same story with the ash. The ash has shrunk a bit less, but every type of keycap I've tried rubs on the edge. I don't happen to have a router or I would try to fix it.

Any possible way to get this fixed or issue a refund?

That sounds bad. Got my canvas keycaps today and gonna start my build with the walnut soon. Doesn’t look too promising after reading about your cases.

I haven't gotten mine yet but I know it's coming soon. There was a problem with the wood I chose, so I'm getting an alternate choice instead. Looking forward to seeing it in person at any rate.

That is very strange, I wonder what sort of treatment has the wood gone through. Don't even think shrinkage happens on kbdfans wood case - maybe under extreme temperatures?

Yes I have a KBDfans wood case. It is slightly tighter on the plate than when I got it two years ago, but this is far worse.
