SO you want a headset, not just headphones.  I run the SHP9500's - some people hate them, I love mine and I use a Drop MiniMic total for both was $65.  I plan to update to the Drop/Sennheiser HD58X's next.

My little Topping NX1s was inexpensive and works really well - more of a portable option that I used with my IEMs on the go and at my desk.

if you are willing to get earbuds a set a VEclan Monk lite with microphone are real cheap (12 USD) and have good quality, they are my go to communication earbuds now although they have only 1.5m cable length so will need an extension for what you want or maybe ask them if they could make you ones with a longer cable, they are a small-ish company and do manufacture custom cables, i never asked them but could be worth a try.

For IEM's, been a fan of KZ's offerings.

Audio Technica ATH M-50s have been popping newb audiophile ear cherries for a while. I'll always recommend them as a solid performer at a steal of a pricepoint.

Note that those are headphones, not headsets. I used the cheaper ATH-M40 for a few years before a hinge broke. It's always the hinge. Maybe the more expensive ones are more durable.

I've straight up abused mine. I take them camping, dropped them in a river once. Still sound great!

I know I'm currently thinking of moving to a set of Sennheiser HD58x's from Drop since they are on sale for $130 right now.

Don't need speakers, just headphones - my Kanto YU2's have fit my needs for speakers at the moment since I am space restricted on what I can use.  Was looking at the Hifiman Sundara's as well (depending on the size of my bonus).

I paid $80 for my set 5yrs ago - enjoying that purchase, built in DAC works well too - even though I run to my SB Zx soundcard for Dolby goodness.

I always suggest the Panasonic HJE-125 earbuds. They are better than any OEM buds I've heard, and for about USD $10 they are a real bargain.

And they are available in multiple colors. You can pick up a pair right now on eBay for $9.40.

Yeah, the Panasonic HJ series are among the best $10 earbuds. I used some while commuting for years.

Sennheiser HD 599 is also a good option. More expensive, but they often go on sale during prime days. Good for music listening. Comfortable for long listening sessions. Mic is located on the cable. Convenient if you need to jump on a conference call. Or go for a cheaper variant such as 559 or 569 (closed back) and get an extra cable with mic.

well i bought spc gear viro infra (local brand) pretty good imo but the cable gets all tangled up and it kinda pushes on my ears and thats a bit uncomfortable. other than that i like them the quality is good and they used this nice fabric that i really like. im just a gamer so sound quality and mic quality doesn't matter much but its good enough
