Gateron Inks
« on: Mon, 02 September 2019, 05:45:47 »
I would like to try Gateron Inks (blacks), but I don't want to spend time and strip them all out to lube them.
Are they good as stock?
I could just get Tealios v2 and I would be fine, but thought I could try Gat Inks as they are a bit heavier than Tealios (I read that Inks are 80g buttom out?)

What about "wobbliness"?
I like how Tealios work - should Inks be similar in terms of wobble? Or worse?

Price wise I don't mind, as Tealios are in promotion and very close to cheaper Inks.

Bias aside, yeah Gaterons are great out of the box. Lubing couldn't hurt, but you'll love them either way. The wobble is ever so slightly worse than cherry's because of the stem/housing tolerance, but I've literally never noticed it and I've basically been typing on exclusively blues for over a year now.

I could not have used my Gateron Inks (silent black) without lubing them.
At least 2 thirds of them had that creaking spring sound.
In terms of "wobbliness" they're quite good.

I've ordered a batch of ink blacks, do you guys recommend switch films for them?

From my experience it's not necessary. The housing parts fit properly.
