HHKB spacebar makes me sick while on NT its dead silent

Both silenced by way with ironed landing pads, both lubed and greased on stabs

Where the ****ing noise comes from?
I believe its the spacebar steel wire that hits on plastic stab?
Maybe should i lube more into stab?
Any advice would be grateful
Thanks

I can't find much. All I found in a quick search is this quote about the Koala.

The most common fix I've heard about spacebar noise is lubing the stabilizers. Other than that, I have no idea since I don't Topre. :(

So what sort of LEDs do you use in the Redscarfs for RGB?

I'd assume SMD RGB LEDs but I couldn't find any information on it at all. Might have to track down an owner to take a picture?

I have a Chicony board with a male 5 pin DIN plug. Can't find any converters with female 5 pin DIN on one end. Do I need to mount a new controller (I really hope not!) or is there a simpler solution?

Oops

What kind of LEDs you looking for? SMD? In-switch/the ones with legs? And what switches are you putting the LEDs into?

Anyone know what the cheapest source of G80s (any kind) are in the US? On eBay the cheapest is currently $35. I need a Cherry board for a project of mine, but I decided against using the Cooler Master I'd bought.
I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html

Switch LEDs to go with a couple Zealio builds.

Does anyone know the sizes of the re-legendable keycaps on the IBM 6112884?  I would like to be able to make neat-looking legends for mine with my laser printer.

I usually go for 2x3x4 mm LEDs but the Zealio switches will actually fit inswitch RGB LEDs switches. I'm not sure of the sizes.

Well the board I want to use them on doesn't support in switch RGB LEDs as far as a I know and I heard that 2x3x4mm with Zealios causes a scratching issue with GMK caps but I am not sure.

How would I go about contributing to the GH wiki?  I have some things to contribute to pre-existing lists, yet when I tried to log in with my GH username, it said that it did not exist so I figure you need some special account or permission.

Also, if anybody has any links to a guide for installing Hypersphere silencing rings, that would be awesome.

1) I believe you need to get the moderators to setup an account. I don't really remember how I got access to be honest though. There was a long awaited upgrade and I was part of trying to set up a team with the geekhack staff to spearhead a Wiki overhaul. That never came to fruition and kinda died. I believe the best thing to do is to add to the DT Wiki and keep populating Making Stuff Together with the maker/DIY stuff that GH is into.

Honestly, the KMACs are pretty affordable as far as kustoms go. You could find a KMAC I for sub $400, II for sub $600

Just got a Leeku 1800 PCB and wondering if there is any difference between this style of diode:

And this one that I see most people using on their's:

I can get 150 of the first one for £2 and the other one is £6 for the same amount (shipped from farnell.com). Would prefer to go with the former if there is no differences/disadvantages.

Thanks!

I prefer the flat package, because I find them easier to mount. But a diode is a diode. Just use whichever you want. :)

Yeah I definitely prefer the flat diodes as well, last time I used the LL4148 diodes I had to tape one side down and solder the other side or else they'd roll right off.

Like Jd said, diodes are diodes. They are just meant to direct the path of the current, allows it to come in one way but not the other. :thumb:

Through-hole vs surface mount. If you're doing through-hole you probably don't care if your diode is round or flat, and for a very long time through-hole was dominant. Manufacturing rectangular through-hole diodes might be a little more involved, and cost more, for no good reason.

I have a quick question that I have not been able to find the answer to on my own:
What qualifies as a post on Geekhack? I've been around here for just a few months and have a post count of 6, but I feel like ived posted more than that, so I guess there is other qualifications for what makes a post. I ask because I might want to make use of the classifieds in the future.

So I put one of my customs together again today (had to take it apart because I'm a klutz and wired the Teensy in backwards). One of the keys doesn't register when pressed down normally, but when I put the keyboard on the table upside down it spams the key. Swapping out the spring + stem hasn't helped and the solder connections seem fine. Shorting the switch by putting a wire across both legs doesn't help either, so I'm thinking I'll have to swap out the whole leaf or switch. Am I missing something obvious?

A post that counts is one that generally contributes something to the forum Threads such as new members, off topic, classifieds, etc. aren't really contributions so they do not count as posts.

Yay, 7!!! /artificiallyinflatingpostcount
Sorry for asking a question on the question thread. I'm not trying to artificially inflate my post coubt, I just want to know why only 6 of my posts are counted. Is that really a problem? If you look at my posts, I'm clearly not a spammer. I don't appreciate your attitude, I'm new man, give me a break.

A post that counts is one that generally contributes something to the forum Threads such as new members, off topic, classifieds, etc. aren't really contributions so they do not count as posts.
Okay, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you Steezus.

No problem, if you ever want to see your total post count go to Profile -> Show Posts -> and then skip to the last page and at the very first post there will be a number next to it.

It was a joke. Who has an attitude here...?
You should know that the pattern /doingsomething means that that is what the poster is doing, not a jab at someone else.

Oh man, my bad then. Sorry about that. I obviously didn't take it as a joke.

I got 3 Topre switch testers and the keycaps confused me. The keycap from Type Heaven is supposedly ABS and the other two from Realforce are PBT. The Type Heaven keycap has a nice texture and feels dry(not slippery). It feels very similar to my Vortex PBT caps. On the other hand, the Realforce caps are quite slippery, even more slippery than my ABS caps. Why is this?
TMK Alps64 w/ Matias Quiet Switches in KBP V60 case.
Infinity60 with SKCM Orange Switches w/ TMK.
CM Storm QRF w/ Frosty Flake controller, Cherry MX Blue Switches and TMK firmware.

Coming:
Ellipse Model F F62.

Different plastic?
No I mean different factory? Cause they must have a different finishing?

I don't have other Topre caps, but the two I have are different (one white one black). I thought PBT in general has a dry texture that is somewhat resilient to sweat, but these two does not feel that way. Is my impression on PBT wrong?

Different method leads to different feeling. BSP have smooth texture and ducky caps have a dry texture. Topre caps all have a smooth texture but the black caps have a rougher texture
