Hello everyone!

The optical illusion deskmat is back and it's almost time to join in. The Deep Deskmat group buy will begin March 8 to March 22!

After over 1,900 IC entries, the final colors that will be available during the GB are Black, White, Classic Beige, Gum, and Hackerman.

Timeline:

Group Buy: March 8th - March 22nd

Lastly, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the kind words and support! This is my first deskmat but hopefully it won't be my last. 

Background on The Deep Deskmat:
I came up with this idea while I was cleaning up my desk and thought to myself,
wouldn't it be fun if I could expand my desk without buying a brand new bigger one?
This inspired me to design a fun visual illusion of "expanding" my desk to be deeper.

I also recently got an white & black keycaps for my keyboard and wanted something
to match the look. I would love to get your feedback on the design!

Interesting concept, I would suggest rendering some alternate angles too as it's not all too common to view your deskmat from a perfect top-down perspective. Also agreed with Tyson about removing the text. gl!

Thank you for the feedback!! I'll make renders of the different angles and add them here:) I'll also remove the text since more colors might not necessarily mean dark too!

good to hear that you plan to add more colorways too. I thought that the name already killed the possibility haha.

I'm also curious how well the effect will translate in person. I think "optical illusion" themed desk mats have a lot of potential overall, nobody has really done it before (afaik)

For sure! I was just giving enough time for all vendors to fulfill the original GroupBuy before I do another interest check for an R2 :) I've been passively gathering entries but not outright promoting it at the moment here: https://forms.gle/pMSVgXWNZbHnrZUs9 . I'll most likely start actively promoting a round 2 with new colors and other feedback soon though since there have been others who inquire about this! ^^
