"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

(The keyboard, not the computer.)

It actually isn't mine – an exceptionally fine gentleman collector sent me one of his so that I could experience the majesty of capacitive buckling springs. And majestic, they are! This really is an exceptional clicky typing experience. I'm completely sold on F > M.

I have this guy:

From Amazon

But I have him standing on the platform at an angle, tilted forward with his arms up and behind him. Like how he runs in the game.

Unfortunately he's at work where I'm not allowed to take pictures :(

Edit: Fortunately, I did take another picture of him. He's at missalaire's house. She got him for me <3

A lot heavier, not really going to use them for mobile. I think the AKG K7xx series comes with a decent stock cable, I just didn't really need 3 meters range and decided to get something custom with a little bit more copper :D.
The orange cable is stock, the black is the new one.

hows the feel?

It's pretty loud and pingy, the springs feel like they buckle pretty lightly compared to my  Model Ms (they're both '87, not sure how much that matters...). I guess a good way to describe it would be halfway between an M and an F, which is weird because it's based of the M2 so I think it has quite a bit more plastic in it, I'll have to do some side-by-sides.

Was that the one that just sold?

Yeah, seller was in SF so it only had to cross the bay.

Welcome to Geekhack!

What switches did you get?

And the space bar tends to shine very well, so some people keep a replacement or two on hand.  Alternative you can get some matt sticky tape and stick it across the space bar.  If pressed down properly you can hardly see it - and no shine at all!
