@ TheBeast

Can you please make sure to write something like 10$ on the envelope, so customs won't charge anything extra?

Thanks!

International packing materiel came in today, should get those packed and and more than likely shipped Monday.

Still waiting on CONUS shipping boxes.

There are for international, but honestly, they aren't even worth me typing in.

In my experience, it tracks to the border and then when it's delivered with nothing else in between.

Do you know how long it'll take to get to Canada? The reason why I ask is because my post man is very unreliable...sometimes they don't leave pick up notices. Thanks again :).

If shipping become a problem, I'd have no problem giving tracking numbers on an individual basis. I just don't want to spent a ton of time if it's not going to be an issue/it sucks

Actually, those LZ________US Tracking numbers become entered into Canada Post's tracking system once it crosses the border. So it actually tracks all the way til delivery on Canada Post's website. :P The tracking info just doesn't update often on USPS's end once it enters Canada.

Also, doesn't printing shipping labels online automatically send a tracking # to the recipient? (PayPal shipping / Click-n-ship)

All the international buyers had their orders shipped (also a small refund due to me overestimating shipping weight, check your PM).

I got the CONUS packing stuff today but didn't have time to print labels and pack them up and ship today. I think I should be able to get it done sometime next week (holiday n all)

Again, thanks guys for all the support!

Looks like I'll be shipping Friday. I'll get shipping labels printed tomorrow, but doubt I'll make it to the post office by close. Wednesday they close at Noon, no go. Thursday's closed as all day.

I honestly have no idea how to use the pair of tools to swiftly pop out the housing...
Although they work really well if you do one side and then the other!  :thumb:

You just put one in one side and one in the other and squeeze them together, it works very well if they are mounted on a plate that allows for switch top removal.

They are. My SS tools have always been 16 gauge (0.0598"), where I'm pretty sure this TI was a 14 gauge plate (0.0747")

kawa can confirm this since I don't remember

Sweet, hopefully I'll get it before I leave for school.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Received my tools right before the new years, thanks Beast for the quick shipping.

I'm not sure if I'm using the tools wrong or something (never used the SS version), but one tool always slips out of the top housing, bruising the plastic everytime (I'm trying to open bare switches, should it only be used when already soldered down? I can see how some extra downward force could help). The tools also wreck abostudio tops from my testing.

Opening new switches directly from underneath with the tools works like a charm though. It just *clicks* and one side is open, and stays open.

I can see how some extra downward force could help). The tools also wreck abostudio tops from my testing.

Opening new switches directly from underneath with the tools works like a charm though. It just *clicks* and one side is open, and stays open.

I did all my testing on PCB mounted switches. I don't think that would make a huge difference tho. Make sure the two prongs are fully inserted and apply even pressure to both pairs.

are abostudio the clear/translucent tops? I had some but never tested on them because I figured they'd be the same

When I use these tools, I just open one side and then block it off from closing and open the other.
It's not quite as clean as I would like, however this seems to be the best way to not damage anything.
Although I have never tried this with new switches

Received my tools right before the new years, thanks Beast for the quick shipping.

I'm not sure if I'm using the tools wrong or something (never used the SS version), but one tool always slips out of the top housing, bruising the plastic everytime (I'm trying to open bare switches, should it only be used when already soldered down? I can see how some extra downward force could help). The tools also wreck abostudio tops from my testing.

The abostudio ones are definitely made from a more brittle plastic.  I've broken several of them using the stainless steel version of these switch tools and I can see stress indicators on even more.  I've never broken a stock Cherry top.

I grid on a couple of abostudio switches. One broke, the other was fine. On cherry tops, I had no problem with mine. Opened about 12 switches and a couple of them multiple times with no issue and no marking
