reply to Dannyhuynh (VNM shipping)

It is $20.9 to Vietnam by air for 1kg.

It is only $38 for 10kg to Vietnam by sea. This is not so surprising when you consider how Southeast Asia looks - we have lots of coastal exposure, and Vietnam is itself one giant thin strip of land, and Singapore is the main port right in the middle of Southeast Asia where all sea lanes pass through.

It is not easy for me to sell my stuff due to shipping costs. but in general buying more stuff is better because of the bulk shipping. Try asking Quochung1989 or Phoenix or some other vietnamese guy to see if you're in the same city as them. You could get a bunch of stuff in one go.

Please PM me if you're in the US and would like to share shipping for one of beserkfan's keyboards.

I'd like to purchase a board from beserkfan but would love to get a better price on shipping. I have a number of large flat rate boxes and would be happy to coordinate a mini group buy. We will all share shipping, and then I'll ship to you for $20 via USPS flat rate. Please PM me if you're interested!

I'm still attempting to make this happen. Right now we don't have quite enough interest to go forward (at least for it to be worth it to me to manage it), but a few keyboard purchases could easily change that. Please PM me if you're in the US and looking to buy from berserkfan.

Ghostjuggernaut, surely one is allowed to update his thread eg with new items (such as I am doing with my keycaps thread) or with notifications of things that were bought/pending, or people looking for other buyers to combine shipping with?

Otherwise it will be very hard for my buyers. Shipping is very expensive unless combined, so they need other people in their own cities.

These are meaningful actions, not bumping for the sake of bumping.

BTW I understand if you remove this particular post. I just wanted to make my opinion public.

I don't really post here much, I'm a guy who mostly posts on DT

if anyone in EU wants an F AT, I'd love to trade mine for the F122 from this auction (plus some stuff on my end to make it a worthwhile trade). I'd be super grateful, can provide pics etc in PM

Although this isn't 'my thread' I don't see any harm in posting this since it'd still end up in a sale for berserk - let me know if it's a problem

OK, this must be the most ridiculous (and customer confidence-busting) reason ever to bump up a selling post, but it is here:

G-Damn Paypal account limited.

Unless I can get some good suggestions on what to do, I'll have to refund a lot of people and only do business with those who can pay via bank transfer.

On the bright side for those who are willing to pay via bank transfer, I'm desperate to clear at least my bulky buckling spring boards, so these will be heavily discounted going forward.

Newest Update:

Due to ongoing problems with paypal, nearly all deals are off and payments have been refunded.

I will be looking into Moneygram, Western Union, Bank Transfer or bitcoin shortly.

Prices will be severely slashed on the keyboards thread and for some keycaps because I am running out of time. Everything must go.

The threads will be updated when I have time. Nearly everything in the /docx files will be available again!

Sent you a PM regarding a local deal.

Currently interested in the Poker X if it's still available.

Posting here since I read in another post to post dibs in the thread or something.

There may be more items I'm interested in, but I'll have to figure that out. I'll be posting in the keycap thread with what I want now as well.

Thanks

just noticed this

I have a tight schedule these two weeks which is why I am not shipping for anyone until May 2.

That also goes for local pickup.

Won't be at home, simple as that.

And no, I don't encourage people to call dibs. I can't monitor all threads. Most dib callers never come through anyway. I just made a comment that said call dibs if you like but only those who pay get stuff.

If you were one of those people who sent me a laundry list saying hey, I might like this and maybe I might like that and possibly I can take this but only if I can confirm that, I probably deleted your PM. I have no shortage of PMs from people who want everything free or very cheap,  and most such people don't really seem to know what they are asking for. Some can't even tell a Razer from a Model M; they were just doing a knee jerk reaction to the word free.

Totally understandable, I'll get you a proper consolidated list of everything that I'm willing to purchase and get back to you.

The wait till May 2 is fine even for local pick up.

Public reply to the type of buyer I find very suspicious

This guy has sent me multiple PMs in the past, all very long, all filled with questions, nearly all about the free stuff, showing minimal understanding of keyboards and what he is asking about. EG he asked for Tipro and bolt modding stuff in the same paragraph, he can’t recognize a Tipro from a Deko Pinnacle, etc.

I’m tired of freebie getters who are not really members of the community, just hanger-ons who waste time for fun and will start PM-blocking anyone who seems dubious.

Sorry, you ask too many questions. I have not time to answer all.
1)   Ergodex, yes, you can move switches. Fun but not really useful.
2)   Tipro, I see your confusion. It is both right and left – the board comes with 2 matrix pads 4x8 which are on the left. You can put them all together or operate separately.
3)   Numpads are FREE. They are very old.
4)   Bolt modding stuff is now $5.
5)   The POS Tipro board is 2.7kg with the two matrix pads. I will not separate them.

You ask for many, many free things and pay practically nothing. This is not the first time you have sent me a laundry list of questions and no deal has emerged. You are ultra stingy with shipping for free things. It is more convenient for me to put everything in 1 5kg box because everytime I fill a box I need to fill a customs form. In any case it is not possible to use 2kg boxes because of the POS Tipro.

I will only take this deal if you pay by bank transfer/ moneygram/ Western Union within 2 working days. Otherwise I will PM block you permanently. I suspect you are not a serious buyer and just want to see if you can get a ton of freebies for practically no shipping.

Also once deal is confirmed and payment is made, I will not accept any further mind-changing or order-changing. I got about 150 PMs yesterday and have no time to answer everyone.

I just wanna let people know that berserk doesn't play games but he is a great seller.  More info about the for-sale items (including shipping weight) is located in his docx file in the OP.  Limit your questions to things that can't be answered by google and you will make a quick and painless sale like myself and plenty others.  If you ask a question about a stock keyboard or something that's answered in the docx, you're going to have a bad time.

I second this. Don't go in thinking he is going to explain everything about the board to you. If you're going in for free stuff you should already know about what you're attempting to get. He's already swamped with PM's he doesn't need to be your Google.

Surprisingly (or not), despite the price drop you see many things still going untouched.

Fact is, 122 key Model M, whether NEW or Bolt Modded with Teensy, nobody wants. NOT EVEN FREE!

I'm sad but I can still sell these at a nominal sum to curio shop. Yeah, curio shop, the kind that sell burmese teak elephant carvings and chinese paper screens. And steam powered clothes irons.

Fking hell curio shop willing to pay me a bit of money that geeks don't want when given to them free. This is supposed to be a keyboard enthusiast website, but most of these kids only have specific layouts and models that they want.

$1000, they will pay Ellipse and wait 1 year for delivery.

I've already paid for some Granite child kits, but if you're really struggling to get rid of stuff for free, feel free to throw in any and all free stuff!

announcement

Just an announcement

I just realized that May 2, 2016 is a public holiday in my country.

I will be working on May 3 and pretty much every day after that, with few breaks.

Therefore I have roped in relatives and family members to assist with the shipping. If you paid before 22 April, most packages should go out 27 or 29 April. If you paid after 22 April, I will still try to get your stuff out in the same batch, but shipping may take place May 3.

If you want to change any order, you have until 25 April (tomorrow) to notify me. After that your shipping will be delayed to May 3. Please avoid changing orders because it leads to confusion.
To keep people from having to wait too long, earlier orders will be prioritized. Also prioritized will be orders that have to go to more distant countries.

You will be given the tracking number. Please follow the instructions on my shipping post https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=78531.msg2071707#msg2071707, and use the tracking number on either the Singpost.com or Speedpost.com.sg website. Once tracking says ‘accepted at the post office’, it’s out of my hands.

sorry genuine buyers

Not taking paypal anymore. Sorry, but the troublesome 99% have made it so difficult for the 1% small genuine buyers who just want to buy 1 set of keycaps from me, don’t demand lots of freebies, and are comfortable with sea mail. For years I have accepted paypal as a convenient means of transferring small sums of money, but now it is just plain too risky.

I have gotten at least 100 PMs for free things over the weekend, and it is extremely high risk for a seller. I have no margin of error. Everything people pay me is going to shipping, and paypal has warned me not to withdraw my money until everything reaches you guys. You guys are not even paying for the boxes and the bubble wrap.

Most kids don't understand what a buckling spring keyboard is. Or they ask, is SKCC Alps a brand name? Or is Model F compatible with Windows OS? I have no time to talk to them and figure out if they are genuine. I have no time to educate buyers. I also noticed from their questions about shipping that no one has bothered to read my shipping post, so most people are going to be unhappy with how long sea mail takes. One mistake, and I wind up sending people stuff they don't want leading to paypal complaint.

In the past I used to remember PM inquiries as ‘the California guy’. ‘That Greek’. But now due to sheer volume of PMs my mnemonic system has broken down. I have never had more than 1 Indonesian counterparty at any time in my life, but now am talking to several Indonesians at the same time and having difficulty remembering who is who. If this goes on, I’ll be double selling, misquoting shipping, mispack your stuff, etc. I must cut down on the volume of potential buyers because I cannot remember everyone.

I am already losing a lot of money just giving away things that I no longer want to keep. I CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE PAYPAL ON FREEBIES BECAUSE IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 100% SATISFIED, I CANNOT DO PARTIAL REFUND. EVERYTHING YOU PAY IS ALREADY GOING TO SHIPPING.

No more paypal. End of story. I want peace of mind. If you're not an adult who knows what you want and is willing to wait 2 months to get a vintage keyboard that may need modding, I'm not comfortable with taking your paypal money, paying in cash for shipping, only to get slapped with a complaint and my funds frozen again when your free keyboard doesn't show up by 2nd day shipping.

ps even if you are willing to pay by moneygram or bank transfer as I prefer, doesn't mean you can just come in and ask to buy $15 of keycaps and get 9 keyboards for free. Yes, there are people who send me requests like that. I'm going to start blocking PMs.
