the stupid logo that they chose for it

The GH60 are secure in their supremacy. We are nonplussed. Does the Poker 2 offer customizable layouts based upon user preference? We didn't think so.

Yes, the GH60 speak in the Royal 'We.'

I LOL'd at the bold.

LastPilot really likes that programming. But wait, are you sure it's programmable?  :p

Yeah man. People gotta know. The Poker II is programmable. I mean I love the GH60 as much as the next guy but we can't keep ducking our heads in the sand. It exists. Vortex has counterattacked the GH60.

I personally only like it because I'm too lazy to install a full set of LEDs on a GH60.

Too much money for me.  :'(

Too much money for me.  :'(

The GH60 PCB was $30 and there was an acrylic case for $30. Plus assembly for like $20-30. It's the same price as a Poker 2?

Um, btw, guys please don't start answering simple questions with simple memes. I don't want to be responsible for the downfall of this thread. It was just a one-time thing, promise.

NOWWW I have a question:
Has there been any news about when the backlit Poker IIs are coming? I cannot find anything on it.

Yes, please don't add memes to the thread anymore ^__^

And I haven't seen any info on the backlit Poker 2 either.

+ Thick PBT caps + switches? Fairly sure I worked it out to be more than that any how?

Oops, forgot that not everyone has extra caps like I do. You're right. More cone of shame action going on right here.

I think Vortex's definition of "Thick PBT" may be different from imsto's. I highly doubt these PBT will be like imsto's thick PBT. Don't know if that matters to you.

Agreed. The Vortex caps I have are pretty thin. The PBT caps off my FC700R are about as thick as the imsto caps though.

Yeah, I've been hoping for "IMSTO" thick caps. The FC700R did it right.

GH60 can be cheap if you know what you are doing in parts sourcing. I can do it for total build cost of like $75ish (maybe even less depending on deals) without much trouble. The most trouble is getting old stock Pure/Poker cases to keep that cost down. Finding old G80 to take everything else from for cheap is not so hard.

Where do you find those cheap G80s?  All the ones I see are at least $75 anywhere.

It help a lot when you know all the other rebranded ones to search on :p and search internationally. US ebay has been pretty dry for awhile though it's true. Also don't be afraid of taobao, just very cautious.

Taobao and I are great friends, just not Bhiner and I right now.  Want to give the newbies like me a point in the right direction with regards to rebranded ones and the like?  Or is that a closely guarded secret for you?

Amiga, Commodore, Apricot, Peacock, NCR, Alcatel, WEY, Scitex, Meto, Olivetti, TA, Nixdorf, Goupil, Blaupunkt, APC, Compaq, etc... some are G80 or G81 only and they didn't use Cherry for any extended period, only certain models so use care. Most of them will be identical to either some variant of 1000, 1800 or 3000 series but there are some unique models as well. Also some were not completely oem'd by Cherry but use their doubleshots or dyesubs on MX or MY switches.

I bought a CM storm QFR with browns, and I liked it at first, but after using it for a couple months I wish it had more tactility, so I was thinking about blues.
I do type quite a lot, but I also play a lot of games, so my question is: are blues still good for gaming?

Any switch is good for any application. It's more a question of user preference

If you like Blues, play video games with Blues. Its all personal preference. I promise you wont be a better gamer if you get X switch. If there was a magical gamer switch, we'd all have the same switch.

Exactly this.  I game with Blues because I like the feel of them.  Do be prepared to have team mates say something about all the noise coming from your mic though.  I used to play a lot of SC2, and had a desktop mic.  You can guess the results  ;D

And if Blues are too loud you can try looking for Whites. Just make sure they are actually MX White and not Clears. There has been some recent confusion about this, since they call clears MX Milk in Asia.

CAD sources as in you'd like the models/drawings for a case? Those files are usually closely held and are hard to get a hold of. I cannot and would not give files that I have without the express permission of the creators.

Pretty sure this got derailed a long time ago. But it's ok, we can still try to answer questions or just say that its complicated and advise ppl to start a new topic. ^-^

Yes, I do understand - that's why I'm asking.
I'm working on a Cherry/ALPs 60% PCB but when it comes to the case it seems to be a problem.
I want to use it as base and then do a few minor changes on it.
My idea is to publish the project here in the forum anyway ...

Not that specific model, as that is the G81 series meaning MY switches. I have a G80-1800, which contains MX switches. Inlikeflynn is the guy to talk to if you want to get ahold of one of the G80 series (or G81 for cap stripping/case salvaging.). Dolch keyboards often can be snagged for cheap (once the caps are stripped) if you are in the market for one. All in all, not worth the MY switches. Also, 'Coffe' is spelt wrong in your signature :P

anyone have one of These and is it worth it?

Also, if you want a white one (for the case or something), you can get them on eBay for $30 shipped.

What's the cheapest/convenient option for effectively lubing my new ergo-clears? I don't have time/money to track down some Krytox 103 and I only plan on lubing my own board.
