Let me know what you think of it, I was thinking of getting one for my work setup but they aren't available here so it's quite expensive to bring them in and want to make sure it's worth it.

Sure, I'll use it for a bit, then PM you. My first impression of it is good at least. :)

HOLY SHIZNIT. ANOTHER TSUTOMU NIHEI FAN AS EMERGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm also a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Nihei fan. His nihilistic and dark style, along with his background in architecture allow him to create some of the most atmospheric worlds... Not only that, his animation of action is so sick! Love the shirt, dood. So very very cool.

I just wish Biomega had a better ending... I was so very disappointed by last third of that series :( :( :( It started out just as good as Blame! too... :'(

Hey man! I was just about to PM you but I guess here is a good a place as any to give my first impressions since I am sure other people will be interested.

Before I went to work, I touched this keyboard just to check out the dampening and thought I didn't like it. When I started typing on it, IT BECAME A WHOLE OTHER STORY.

I will warn you however, the keyboard feels MUCH different than my FC660C. It is lighter but not cheap feeling, the keys definitely actuate easier and the switch feels completely different with the dampening. I thought it reduced the travel, but I don't think that's what it was. I think it is just a different keyboard and therefore just feels differently. The sound and feeling of typing on this thing is literally so different, but in a good way. It is very hard to explain, but if I had to describe it, it would be like typing on a keyboard where the plate is a frigin mattress.

You will definitely like it. But I would definitely advise having another Topre board if you love the switch. Either Leopold or 55G to get more of a Topre feel as this feels very different (I know I keep saying different a lot). I know you had an HHKB so I won't go into how fun the layout is.

I would love to hear how it differs from the unsilenced HHKB though because I only had a Leopold to compare it to and it feels like a completely different switch to me.

Also, if you game, then you will love this keyboard. It feels like if Cherry MX reds were Topre. Anyone who said this keyboard isn't good for gaming is nuts.

I will be posted a full review and Leopold comparison on my YT channel this weekend.

You are definitely right about it feeling very different, when people say oh it's the same as the std. HHKB just silenced, I always laugh a little inside :) I have a std. as well and a realforce 55g. The std. HHKB feels like the keys have a little more wiggle room if that makes sense and the type-s is more firm and wiggle free. Sometimes it feels like the std. HHKB is a little lighter but I think that is just because my std. HHKB is like 4 years older then my type-s. As you mentioned the plate mounted boards do feel quite different even compared to a std. HHKB. Unfortunately I haven't used a Realforce 45g or a FC660C so I can't compare 45g plate vs. case mounted across the board.

Nice! Can't wait for mine.  :thumb:

I have a std.

Lol, that made me chuckle.

Anyway, you are 100% right. If you haven't tried the Leopold but love Topre, I would definitely suggest doing so. They feel like completely different switches and weight.

I would say FC660C is to Cherry MX Clears what HHKB Type-S is to Cherry MX Browns.

Doesn't look like it to me, just an up close and personal macro shot.

I've evidently been away far far too long :(

Though it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

I got absolutely nothing :(

Waiting for my displayport to DVI active adapter so I can use eyefinity again. Used to be borrowing my dad's, but then he got a GPU with DP out.

On topic: Love that cap, Fire Brand!
