Yup, I agree entirely. Those little pinholes are so tacky. Beyond that, they don't even serve a purpose with the Alps PCB.

No indicators in the top left position and the RGB LEDs above the arrow cluster serve no purpose. No layer indicators there.

I'm not sure, man. Duck seems to have phases with each design, like certain paradigms he follows until it loops back around into the next generation. It started with the Orion v2, onto the Octagon v2, and that Blackbird board. I definitely didn't like the way the Octagon v2 looked compared to the original. Too generic for me.

Unless he's convinced that it's not a good aesthetic, we're probably going to keep seeing it. I'd take in-switch indicators any day. I also thought the blinking layer indicators of his older designs were charming. Kind of like aircraft navigation lights.

If you ever get to making a HHKB style PCB with an 6u spacebar option, hit me up. Got a nice Cherry G80-1800 and can't stop thinking about re-purposing it for a MX HHKB layout build. Want to have that stepped caps lock sooo much!

Lubed and added dental bands to my HHKB. It's so nice.

The sound, the feels and the gratification of not screwing anything up is quite nice. Now need to get the metal sticker somewhere and my "end game" is near.

Can the plastic be in some sort of translucent color, there's an indicator light or a switch underneath if I remember correctly. I'm planning to add the HASU controller some day.

No, they don't come out easily, they're quite tight. But I think you could print them out using some translucent plastic though. I'm not using Bluetooth HASU controller so I don't really have any indicators or switches there. The only button on the controller is behind DIP switch cover.

I'm still undecided if I should get the bluetooth one or just the non-bluetooth controller as the bluetooth battery last for only less than a day, which is very different from most of the wireless device on the market - which is at least a few months of battery they're holding. I really don't know the technical reasons behind - perhaps the BT 2.1 or the HHKB is sucking up battery quick.
